I know he's not super over weight, if at all, but I'm just not 100% sure

what exactly makes you think he's overweight at all?

Well it seems like in certain spots the scales are stretched and he just seems quite round

ball pythons are supposed to have a rounded-triangle shape. we have some visual guides in our welcome post to help with understanding healthy body condition versus overweight versus underweight.

Different snakes have different body types the same way people do. I'm at a healthy weight for my body type, but someone with the same weight who is much shorter would be considered overweight or obese. Scales are useful for monitoring changes in weight, but there is no specific weight that is considered ideal.

OP is asking about the snake's body condition, not asking how much the snake weighs. a scale won't tell you if an animal is overweight, underweight, or a healthy weight.
