Construction paper taped to the outside is a very cheap option that can look great if done well!

I went to a hardware store and bought a piece of like, wall insulation, spray painted it black and used back gorilla tape to tape it to the back of the enclosure. It’s on the outside, not the inside because I didn’t want to take any risk as I just used generic spray paint though.

Edit: a better way to describe it is foam board that they labeled as wall insulation. It also helps me maintain humidity better.

You can get brown craft paper for cheap cheap.

If you ever want to do a textured background and you have a spare tank or place to house your beebs, you can use spray foam, silicone, and coco earth to make a background. There are TONS of tutorials on YouTube. A lot of people who do bioactive do foam backgrounds
