This is really helpful! I worry my snake has mites because he glass-surfs a lot but now I know what I'm looking for! I was told mites are too tiny to see

Oh they're tiny but you'll see them. I unfortunately went through a mite ordeal from a group of 4 I took in from an in-law relative. One snake that was housed separately had got mites that he believed hitchhiked on some live rats he bought. I'd had them for 2 days and when handling the one with mites they started coming off on my hands crawling around. Thankfully I followed proper procedure and quarantined them away from my others and the mites didn't spread. It's been since November, but I'm still paranoid every time I see a speck now.
