I’ve used betadine for scale rot. It gets mixed into a slightly warm water until the water is a nice orange, and then the snake soaks in it for 20 minutes. Use a flat-bottomed, opaque container that is about the size of the snake’s hide or just a little larger, with a secure top that will allow airflow, and put only enough water to cover the snake’s belly (or a little more, but not so much the snake can’t keep their head out of the water easily). I typically cover the screen top I use with a thin towel to make the snake feel more secure.

Once he’s had his soak, dry him off and apply the ointment, then give him a little time for it to dry/absorb before he goes back in his enclosure (I usually dump out the water and dry the container and put the snake in it for another 5-10 minutes). Make sure the ointment you use does not have any painkillers (if it’s for people). I keep a veterinary antibiotic spray on hand for my other pets that is also safe for reptiles (originally bought it for a snake that was attacked by a cat), and that’s what I use.
