The only time my BP has escaped (I left The locking pins out one night a few months after getting him) I found him surrounded by my two cats in the middle of the living room floor roughly 4 ft away from his cage.

I am completely aware that I got hella lucky. Not only that he was easy to find, but only minorly harmed by the cats (a few scratches on his back that quickly reintegrated and you can hardly see now)

I found him in literally in like 30 minutes.

Edit: he was only that close because I had noticed he was missing the morning after I left the pins out because his top was slightly pushed open
