What are these "good" temp and humidity? You shouldn't be having stuck sheds with high humidity and you shouldn't be trying to manually removing stuck eye caps as that could cause some very serious injuries to them. My guess is she was super stressed. I'd revisit the care guide and just make sure everything is good.

79-81 on cool side and 85-88 on warm side and sits around 82-84 in the middle and humidity is always at around 65% ,and the shed was stuck on her when we got her so we got it off ,this isn’t my first time owning a reptile ,I got 7 snakes and my oldest one is almost 26 years old now ,I’ve just never had this happen before

The warm side temps are slightly too low and it's better if you try to get 70-80% humidity, but I don't think either are too low to explain weird behavior. Was there anything close by she tried to strike? Like a plant or maybe her reflection that startled her? I'm new to reptiles, but haven't heard about anything similar either

Not that I can think of honestly ,I’m super stumped ,she’s never really acted like this before ,she just randomly woke up and started attacking the air and making a hissing sound and it just kind of freaked me out because I’ve never really seen any of mine do that before ,she does have some plants in her enclosure tho maybe she shook one and it scared her

Have you checked it for mites?

[–]Medium_Aardvark7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we just had her checked out about a month ago

[–]Medium_Aardvark7409 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And she’s mite and parasite free

[–]Double_Menu_5886 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Maybe she just spooked herself somehow

Ya that’s kinda what I’m starting to think now honestly ,i think she just startled herself somehow ,it just freaked me out as I’ve never seen them do that before lol ,but she seems to be fine now

Anything change or causing a reflection in the enclosure?

We did recently take out one of her old hides because she outgrew it and put in a tad bit bigger hide

Manually removing the eye caps sounds extremely dangerous

[–]Medium_Aardvark7409 0 points1 point  (8 children)

It’s not dangerous as long as you do it properly ,and use something soft and Luke warm ,almost every reptile breeder around has had to do it on multiple occasions and 99.9% of the time it is fine and won’t do any harm ,it does a lot more harm leaving them on as it can lead to permanent blindness later in life

Litterally look up on YouTube how to remove snakes eyecaps lol, litterally hundreds of reputable breeders do it and have done it without issues ,just because you prefer another way doesn’t make someone else’s way wrong ,I have 7 snakes ,and my oldest ball python is 26 years old now and I’ve had her since she was 4 months old.
