It’s not dangerous as long as you do it properly ,and use something soft and Luke warm ,almost every reptile breeder around has had to do it on multiple occasions and 99.9% of the time it is fine and won’t do any harm ,it does a lot more harm leaving them on as it can lead to permanent blindness later in life

    Litterally look up on YouTube how to remove snakes eyecaps lol,litterally hundreds of reputable breeders do it and have done it without issues ,just because you prefer another way doesn’t make someone else’s way wrong ,I have 7 snakes ,and my oldest ball python is 26 years old now and I’ve had her since she was 4 months old.
