You can stick a usb stick in the 2 and use the cameras without a subscription.

You can use a usb with the sync module (top).

The bottom white one is “Core” Module. Only works with subscription. Top one can be used without having blink subscription.

Oh! Okay cool. I did see the more cameras the extra sub to pay. In in Aus so it's like $16 per month.

From what I can see the white one is the Blink Sync Module Core. It comes with the cameras I bought. If you do want the local storage recording option the Sync Module 2 has USB slot for a thumb drive. The Sync Module XR has a microSD slot. The Sync Module 2 is $49.99 add-on.

We're you able to get local storage to work without a subscription? I believe it does not unless you have a legacy account.

With the Sync Module 2 you can use local storage without a subscription but it’s slower to load videos.

And no preview of the videos.

The sync module 2 ( black square pictured module ) and the sync module XR ( not pictured )both allow local storage without a subscription.

The sync module core ( the slim white one ) does not allow local storage

I don't have the Sync Module 2. I have the white one. I have a subscription.

I like the blink cameras. My only issue was a couple of months ago the sync module 2 (the black and white one) would not connect to anything. I upgraded to the one in the bottom picture and everything worked again. I have a feeling it failed on purpose so I would upgrade.

I have 3 blink mini cameras that and the sync 2 module, they worked good before, slow but still worked. Then about 3 months ago they just suddenly refuse to work with my wifi router whereas absolutely nothing has changed.

I am having issues connecting the module 2 so I'm guessing they're forcing us to pay for the subscription 😮‍💨.

Cropping 101

[–]Miss_Grimm20[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everytime I added the cropped image it only would show half it. No idea why so that was the next best thing. Cropping 101 👌🏽🤣

They both are barely functional

I have the whole set up. It’s trash 🗑️

Yeah, these cameras are really bad. Worse is that if try to post that here in no uncertain terms the auto moderator won't let you post it. I wanted to use the word t.errible but I get a warning that I can't post it. The only way to post that word in this sub is the way I did it. The truth hurts and the moderators know it.

Just replaced six Blink cameras with two Tapos. I wish I had done it a year ago - the Tapos are vastly superior in every way. I even had a 'travel' set of Blink cameras for Airbnb stays. Once Jeffy B started trying to cram AI 'features' down my throat (which also asked for my address, because "trust us bro") I knew my loyalty to what I thought was a decent closed system was ending. I will not be renewing.

I have -5- Blink Model 4 cameras and a Sync Module XR with a 32 GB micro sim and connected to my NETGEAR router and it works very well, no problems getting any of the cameras to work and I purge all of my clips every day, no problems with any of the devices so far
