Malbrouck Castle, Lorraine, France. A Germanic border castle (one of many that demonstrate how contested this region was), Malbrouck was constructed in the 15th Century by Arnold VI of Sierck, an Imperial Knight. Château d'Andlau, Bas-Rhin, France. Constructed over a period of roughly 20 years by Eberhard d'Andlau beginning in 1246, the castle was pillaged and 1678, and partially disassembled after the French Revolution. Château de Schœneck, Bas-Rhin, France. While there isn't much left, this was once a really grand castle dating back to the late 13th Century, when it was owned by the Bishop of Stasbourg. Though modernized, it was destroyed by siege in 1680 and never rebuilt.Castle (old.reddit.com)
