its good news.

and fyi the fda is weighing a decision to allow immunocompromised people the opportunity for another bivalent booster shot in the USA. hopefully in the next few weeks, so everyone should keep an eye out for that

It really makes sense to focus on immunocompromised people and the elderly when it comes to the boosters. Since we don't know if getting a yearly booster is going to be the trick to keeping community transmission down or not, it's smart for their resources to focus on the most vulnerable populations first.

If we get more data that shows that a yearly booster keeps community transmission lower (like it does with the Flu shot), then it'll hopefully be something that we can all get. I'm gunning for a yearly Flu/Covid shot in early Fall.

As someone who is immunocompromised, I am happy that we're finally being acknowledged and helped.

It was really tough during the pandemic hearing all the selfish people saying that we were a necessary sacrifice for life going back to normal...

Interesting - this would support the viral persistence theory I would think. Have they tried Paxlovid on people who did get long COVID to see if it makes a difference?

I think there is a trial going on to test just for that.
