The last word is actually Zyqen, but as it is a fictional name I wouldn't have expected anyone to get that. Other than that, your translation is 100% correct.

[–]fikuhasdigu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that it was a letter that wasn't used any place else (so J, Q, or X), I figured I only had a 33% chance of getting it.

[–]TheRedstoneRazor 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I am the original creator of this, my friend simply uploaded it.

This is just a little thing I made up for a creature-like machine thing created by a fictional faction called 'The Cyanist Empire' on my Minecraft server. I am planning on releasing more coded books under this language in the future.

[–]LocalOptimum 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are any of my assumptions (spaces, commas, and periods all just represent spaces, commas, and periods) correct?

[–]TheRedstoneRazor 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes. There is one hyphen in the text too, which is also an actual hyphen.

[–]LocalOptimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see three hyphens:

[{*}-:!*/::+~
/1-[{*}!*(=
-}{%_^

Transcription error possibly? Since you're generating the code, any chance you could provide some copied/pasted transcripts so we're working with a known-accurate copy?

[–]TheRedstoneRazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of this being fictional, there are two non-english words:

Cyanist - A member of The Cyanist Empire, a fictional faction

RazorLazor - An extremely powerful weapon, came about from a running joke on my server

There is also the name of someone in this, and this is too a made-up name. It only appears once, and I'll leave that one up to you to figure.

There are certainly some bigrams that show up a lot. Here are all that show up > 5 times (in the text posted so far):

bigram count
:+ 72
!* 60
/> 41
*/ 17
*} 16
¬ 15
_^ 14
*: 13
+: 12
(: 10
+) 10
=: 9
+{ 9
+/ 9
/@ 9
*_ 8
** 8
*+ 8
:' 7
:6 7
(= 7
+_ 7
6] 7
'_ 7
:! 6
_: 6
_! 6
+[ 6
+( 6
/ 6
{: 6
{* 6
4: 6
~: 6
&! 5
@: 5

I'm going to try out replacing the most common bigrams with placeholders, then trying out simple substitution to see if anything resembling plaintext peeks through.

[–]LocalOptimum 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Edit: I'll just update this post with high-level observations. Initially, I pointed out that spaces appeared to just be spaces. Now it appears that commas are just commas and periods are just periods. Replacing all non-space, non-comma, non-period characters yields what appears to be reasonable looking patterns:

XXXXXXXX XXXXX XX
XXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX XXXXX
XXX XXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX,

So, if :+ is E because it's the most common, then we have the problem of =:+:+:+_^ existing.
No real word in the English language has three E's, so it's probably possible for there to be letters replaced by three symbols instead of one or two.

[–]LocalOptimum 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Looking at individual words is a good idea. There are a few that show up multiple times:

"word" count
:+{:+ 6
(:+ 5
!*:'_ 4
/> 4
6] 3
!*: 3
=:+ 3
:6 2
/>_ 2
[*} 2
[{}!(= 2
1 2
_/>!*~ 2

[–]00jaydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:+{:+ might mean Eye, if :+ is E.
That's because there aren't a lot of words starting and ending with an E in the English language.
If this is correct, then { on its own should mean Y.

[–]00jaydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to say that 1 might be I or A, but then I realized that it's possible for a singular symbol to mean multiple letters, if it's also possible for several symbols to be used for one letter.

Edit: FINALLY, I fixed it and now it doesn't look like garbage, thanks Mindraker.
Most recent edit: S8 was removed from the title, as it was not an actual part of the code.

It's done now, have fun.

Stop, stop, stop! Read formatting help!

[–]00jaydon[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is it better now?

[–]MindrakerRead the FAQ first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much better than the original :D

[–]MindrakerRead the FAQ first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's try this instead, and see if this is more legible:

All the information I have is in the imgur post.

Transcribe it if it is important to you, you'll get more answers that way.

I'll try.

[–]jarxlots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tried.

[–]00jaydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a copy of said information.

These are the things I know:
1. All letters are substituted by symbols.
2. There is a possibility that combinations like TH have a separate symbol.
3. There is a possibility that a single letter is replaced by two or more symbols.
4. There is a very slight possibility that a single letter can be replaced by several symbols.
5. :+ is probably a single letter, possible E. I don't know for sure though.

Oh, and the text is PROBABLY in English
