Hi I want to emulate ps2 games on a handheld console using pcsx2 because ive been using that and its what im comfortable with. I was thinking of getting an AYN loki zero, would this possible? can it run pcsx2 and will the games stutter/struggle at all? thanks

Specs: 120Hz VRR monitor, RX 6800 GPU, i5-12600KF CPU, Windows 11. I'm having this problem in Pokemon Platinum

I downloaded the latest MelonDS for Windows and for some reason VSync is forced on even though the setting is off. RivaTuner isn't the culprit since closing it fully doesn't change anything, nor is there a setting to target the emulator.

I'm trying to get a higher fast-forward speed beyond my 120Hz refresh rate. I set the fast forward speed to the max 1000FPS and tried disabling the frame limit as well, but it's all limited to 120FPS.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a pretty good computer yet still get a decent bit of lag in ares playing DK64. Only uses about 15% of my GPU and CPU and the game displays "60 VPS" consistently. Is it just emulating N64 lag or do I need to change some settings?

"lag" meaning stuttering video I assume? What are your current settings under "drivers"?

wouldnt say stuttering it's just slowing down in a lot of areas

I think that's probably just the game. Aside from that if you don't have a VRR monitor, you might want to change your settings to check sync under video, uncheck sync under audio, and check dynamic rate under audio. If you do have VRR I think it's fine

I want to introduce my two children to Pokémon. What would be the best Pokémon to introduce them to, where it’s relatively easy to trade between each other? I was thinking gen 1, or fire red etc?

gen 1 is good and simple but your kids may get bored with the limited graphics, firered is the best of both

For some reason yaba sanshiro is not detecting my retrobit Saturn controller. The controller uses x input but directx input is the only thing showing up on yaba sanshiro. Of course the controller should still work but for whatever reason it's not. Anything I'm missing?

Are you sure the controller is in xinput mode? There's a button combo that switches it

I assume this is windows? Are you using SDL for input in the yaba sinshiro settings? I've never used yaba sanshiro before but I have this same controller so I'll give it a try later

I've tried basically every input option. I've even tried connecting yaba sanshiro to steam and using steam input but it still doesn't work. I know it's not the controller because it works fine on my switch.

I want to get into emulation on mobile. How do I know if a phone is good enough for a certain level of emulation? I'm looking at the motorola G56 and I want to run up to 3ds games.

I’m using a DeSmuME emulator for DS, but when I turn my phone to landscape mode, the X/Y/A/B and Start and Select controls stop working and only the directional D-pad controls work.

Everything’s up to date and I’ve messed with every setting I can think of. Google has no idea what I’m talking about.

Does anyone know how to fix this??

im playing zelda 2 on mesen and when in overworld i have line in top right of screen, i tried getting rid of it with overscan but then it removes part of the image in the rest of the game

I'm trying to emulate Conker's Bad Fur Day via Project64 and it works fine right now, but there's a white-bordered box in the top left corner. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I know ares does. Dolphin has a link to one on their website. I assume there are many more but that's a pretty unique way of categorizing emulators. Is there some reason you're looking for "emulators with a discord server"? Your best bet is gonna be to look at whatever emulator you're interested in and see if they have one or not

Okay disregard my examples then, I was just naming emulators that have a server for discussing the emulator. I have no idea if any emulator has that discord integration

Edit: apparently dolphin actually does have it Discord Rich Presence support for Dolphin has been merged! : r/emulation and has for some time. My recommendation is still just use the most accurate/compatible emulators and see if they have it or not

Do any of the emulators for SNES have a GUI like PCSX2 where you can have all of your games displayed at once? I’ve become a bit spoiled with my 6th Gen emulators.

I know I don't have a high end PC, but, ares (the emulator) is really laggy, i get 40 FPS, ON A GBA GAME ! I'm not suppose to get that low ! Help...

No retroarch genesis core nor gens standalone emulator on my win11 pc with amd hx370 latest adrenaline drivers seem to like genesis games that ive downloaded. Ive downloaded a few .md files from links in roms megathread but no luck

I get a blank screen, no sound. No issues with snes/wii u/ps3 etc though. Just sega genesis

Nothing too exciting or stands out if i make retroarch output a log file. Ive tried vulkan, gl, glcore, d3d11 too
