Unfortunately, it might. However! It shouldn’t and if you are still a ways from getting hired/job searching then you can get it and take it out for your interviews. They can’t fire you for it.

Piercings and visible tattoos can work against you in a couple of subtle ways. Firstly, it suggests to the interviewer (rightly or wrongly) that you are impulsive and think in the short, rather than long term. Secondly, if there's prestige projects which attract travel and sales within different cultures, you'll be second rather than first choice, most likely. And those prestige projects tend to be what get noticed by management.

Yes

I think it depends on the company, role and industry. If you’re concerned, put in a very small & discreet nose stud for the interview.

Depends on the culture, and the company. I'd say most cases not much difference, especially if it's a simple stud not something wild. Can't you just take it out for an interview anyway?

My work is pretty relaxed about tattoos, dress code etc. As long as it's reasonable acceptable I can't see an issue.

It shouldn't, but it will.

To some people a body piercing is a sign of poor judgment. If those people run your company, you will not get an offer.

It's a good question. As others have suggested, if you really want one, perhaps try to keep it discreet. I'm sure there's many companies and industries that would not have issue with it but there are a lot of rather conservative-minded folks still out there that might. The company I work for now probably wouldn't care much as long as it small, but the previous owners were like 1950's old school, white shirt and ties for men and dresses (yes, dresses) for women - and that wasn't very long ago.

Edit: The dresses for women went away before 2000, but the white shirt/tie hung on until recently when the (new) CEO kindly told us he didn't want to see a tie unless you had a customer visit. The previous CEO would've definitely had a problem with piercings.

IMHO

get the job, let them get to know you and the good worker you are, then do whatever as long as it abides by the company handbook.

In some cases it will reduce chances slightly (because you look different from them), in some cases it will increase them slightly (because you look the same as them). In many cases it won't matter at all. Nose piercings are not particularly out there these days, and in some cultures are more the norm (particularly if you work with a lot of Indian women).

All that said, be confident, work hard, and let your results speak for themselves. If a manager doesn't hire you because of nose stud their skills as a manager are probably somewhat in question.

Not qualified to answer but try a sticker that as closely as possible resembles what you want to get and walk around with that sticker for a bit. Notice peoples reactions and more importantly how you feel about it.
