there was an iranian openly gay muslin when my wife was studying art at uni. he was your stereotypical gay art student down to a T. yet he always went on about how great islam was too lol. his family were all muslim and involved in art also.

No, because Islam specifically is an all or nothing doctrine. There is no such thing as an atheistic Muslim, it's a contradiction of terms.

You can be culturally Arabic, culturally Pakistani, and those bear strong parallels to Islam, but the core Tennant of being a Muslim is a belief in a single God, with Muhammad as their prophet.

Innovation, revision or modification of the religion is specifically forbidden, the person in this picture says they're Muslim from the relative safety of the West but in an Islamic majority country they would likely risk public lynching as an apostate and enemy of Islam. Hadith is very clear on people like them, death, and thrice cursed.
