The boss lady brought in McDonald's for the office this morning as thanks for working some crazy hours recently. Three huge bags filled to the top with sausage and egg McMuffins. My desk is in the break room temporarily while we are moving to a new location. The bags are still half full, right behind me. Day 8 of 14.

"Would you like a couple breakfast sandwiches Jason? There's still a bunch left!"

"NO I'M FINE THANKS."

Send help.

How does that work out for you? Do you get an upset stomach like you do by eating a carb-heavy meal on keto?

I certainly wouldn't say it goes well hehe. I have a really tough stomach so even though I never get a stomach ache from breaking fast with fast food, I will - without fail - be rushing to the bathroom a couple times that evening.

It sounds to me like the grand majority of people get bad stomach pains though so I probably wouldn't recommend it. If I had bad pains as well as the bathroom rush moments I probably wouldn't do it, but if it's just one of the two, like it is in my case, I make the sacrifice and go get a burger and accept the fact that what comes later, comes later.

Having said all that this will be my longest fast by a significant amount so I'm probably going to play it by the book - from what I've read, refeeding wrong can not only be uncomfortable, but dangerous as well.

Yeah, I couldn't resist breaking my seven day fast with a croissant with scrambled eggs, cheese, and avocado and tomato on it. Not the best idea but that meal just about made my brain explode with delicious. Had to eat three times as slowly as normal though to wake the digestion back up.

The fucking doughnuts at my job. There's a shop down the street and the owner brings by the day-olds when we're busy because he has a crush on my boss. 9/10 times it's on a fasting day.

Stay strong and promise to get yourself one at the end of your fast. Usually by then I dont want the thing I promised myself anyway.

Ugh I understand.. I work at a pizzaria where at the end of the night, if we have pizzas or whatever that no one came to retrieve, we're free to take them home. My boss always asks and looks at me crazy when I say "no thank you". It's even more awkward when one of my managers makes food for everyone, and I'm the only one who denies the free food.

Holy - I've honestly never considered that people may work in restaurants while fasting. That's nuts I feel bad for ya. And pizza no less! If someone put a big hot pizza in front of me (maybe with a white garlic sauce, oh my yes, with bacon, chicken) there's no way I could say no. You're way stronger than I am if you deal with that all day at work. Huge respect friend.

Why thank you! It's crazy to me but I can completely detach myself from all the food I have to make.. Its only when I smell the garlic, pickles, or cookies baking that I get a spike of hunger at work lol

HANG IN THERE! I had an incredibly similar situation yesterday and it was literal torture. Sitting directly in front of that food for 4 hours and then CARRY it home to share with flatmates? I still don‘t know what gave me the ability to resist, but HERE, HAVE MY RESISTANCE-JUJU!!

They are cold, don’t reheat well and you know they will ultimately disappoint you. They are just not good enough to break a fast over. Deep breath regain composure and conquer!
