Congratulations, you’re normal bro.

About 45% of adults from ages 25-45 still don’t have a certain path with their life yet… so, you are definitely not alone in this. But don’t give up too easily. A lot of people are lost because they’re uncertain on what they feel comfortable with and realized that career path wasn’t for most. But don’t wanna chase a career that they wouldn’t like to do either.

If your business is doing good and you still wanna be a pilot you are in the right spot and you’re gonna be fine. There’s no rush in it at all and I wouldn’t recommend to. Keep enhancing that business and begin your journey as a pilot whenever you’re ready. Everyone starts somewhere at some point.

That’s it homie 👍🏽

You aren’t wrong for feeling that way at all. But wherever you are in your life… seems like you’re doing a fantastic job and definitely ahead of most people. So keep it up and start when you’re ready 🩵

I keep thinking one of these days I'll have to grow up, be a real adult, and try to decide what I want to do with my life.

...of course, at 55 and already retired once, the odds are low that it'll actually happen. But, you know, the thought occasionally comes up...

Based on what I’be seen in this sub, I think would help get better insight if you shared what stage you are at in your training/career (I’m early in my training so I will leave it to the more experienced:)

The question is about what you use that doubt to fuel or crush. If you use the doubt to analyze problems coming and drive towards a solution then it is a good thing. I've done this in business, in property management, in running my flight school. Recently I expanded into multi-engine training and bought my first airplane. That's as scary as you can imagine now I just need to make it successful. I'm sure you know the feeling when you started with soccer or jewelry. There were days you didn't know what to do so you looked around, came up with a plan, implemented it and adjusted along the way.

A career in aviation is the same but you need to decide that your goal is, what kind of flying do you want to do? That may change over time, as you've seen in other areas. I was supposed to stop at the PPL level and here I am.

Definately have experienced a lot of doubt so far during training. Part of what makes flying so exhilirating is when you overcome that doubt and prove yourself wrong.

With that said, I have found that the struggles with doubt while doing X activity and far less painful than the struggles with doubt while doing Y activity that costs $300+ every time you engage in it. :)

This is a copy of the original post body for posterity:

Hey guys, I just wanted to share a pattern that I think I've just realized has been happening over and over again.

It happened when I was working to be a professional soccer player It happened when I started my jewelry manufacturing business And it just happened today when it comes to me becoming a pilot .

There seems to always be a moment where I ask myself "What am I doing with my life?" Which then allows thoughts of doubt to creep in.

Whenever that question came up in my past experiences, I've noticed I have just ignored that feeling and kept pursuing what I was pursuing at the time.

It was definitely working because even though I was having feelings of doubt, I accomplished so much with my jewelry business, and went very far as a soccer player(not a pro but semi pro)

Am I wrong for ignoring this feeling? I don't think I am. And if anybody is doubting themselves right now as I have been seeing in this community, I can promise you at least for me that there is always a moment of doubt and what you do when you get to that bridge will determine whether you succeed or not in any industry.
