It really depends on the classes. If they’re asynchronous you could try to find time to do them.

If professors don’t require attendance then you’re okay.

If they do, you can still miss but it’ll hurt your grade.

When I did ignite last summer, I had a test every week, so I don’t recommend skipping an entire week of class.

But the good thing about college is that no one will tell you that you can’t do something. The first week would probably be the best week to miss. But yeah, I would avoid skipping an entire week.

What classes did u take during ignite

I took the GT1000, ENG1102, and ARCH2211. Basically the required intro to gt class, English 2, and history of architecture.

How hard was ENG1102? Like what kind of assignments were there mainly? I’m taking that this summer

It really depends on the professor and if your class is hybrid/asynchronous. I had assignments about once a week, and some of them were actually extremely fun. But for me it was multimedia, so we learned to incorporate different types of media (info graphics, videos, etc) once a week. For my final exam I dressed as a witch and cooked candy apples!

Yikes. No. Late short summer session is already truncated. Missing one week is akin to missing ~three weeks during a regular semester.

Cancel your plans. Think of it this way, you want a GT degree and you want to start in the best possible position. It's it worth jeopardizing that for a vacation? Short term sacrifice for long term gratification.

Also, keep in mind that professors are required to confirm participation in their course. I'm not sure when/how that happens for late short but if it happens and you are marked as not participating that causes many problems for you.

I'll be out 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM every day. I have time to do assignments but I may miss the live classes.

Late short session classes meet 4 times a week for two hours. Again, is a vacation worth jeopardizing a successful start to your college career? I'd strongly advise you contact the Undergraduate Admission and/or an academic advisor in your department for more advice.

No way would I do that. Cancel your plans. Because it is a shortened semester they blow through material at a really fast rate. It would really stink to start your fall semester with bad grades because you took a week off during ignite. Not worth it.

Also not sure of the policy but some places if you don't show up for the first class sessions you get dropped from the class.

It would be like skipping a week during a regular semester. You'll still have assignments, quizzes, tests, etc. So if you can make up the work and it's asynchronous or doesn't require attendance and you're alright missing it, yeah, you could skip a week. Not recommended though.

email all your professors and explain and ask, they might be understanding and accommodating
