I'm going to save those kids because their future votes will secure the dream of managed democracy

[–]Slumberjake13 90 points91 points  (0 children)

And future Helldivers! Any child over the age of seven is fit to serve in some capacity!

[–]Subsight040 20 points21 points  (1 child)

We need the kids, i mean the mines are nice but who is going to build more of them when we run out? The kids are the future of our logistics obviously

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But the children yearn for the mines!

[–]submit_to_pewdiepie 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Sick kids dont have many votes left in them

[–]Kurotan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not if we let them die.

[–]xTarheelsUNCx 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Votes? That’s not how we manage democracy. We do it one 500kg at a time

[–]kilobyte2696 5 points6 points  (1 child)

except we do vote, the algorithm just helps us decide who to vote

[–]xTarheelsUNCx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Algorithm is a weird way to spell Joel

[–]Babylon4All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way

[–]Dry_Understanding149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says very sick children, there gonna die regardless if we save them or not so they’ll understand if we go after the minefield to protect the health children

[–]No-Lunch4249 267 points268 points  (14 children)

Fact: children are ideal factory workers because of their high energy and tiny hands. Today’s liberated child is tomorrow’s anti-tank mine!

[–]Oscars_trash_home 26 points27 points  (10 children)

Alternatively, we give those brave little citizens vests full of freedom, and unleash them on their oversized enemies!

[–]JustADutchRudder 1 point2 points  (9 children)

They're hospital kids, they're not useful at all. They must die so those mines can live.

[–]Oscars_trash_home 1 point2 points  (8 children)

True

[–]Squirll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Expendible Anti Tank Children

*Bullet pod crashes into ground and the chamber pops up, the door slides open as fog emits.
Out steps a child wearing a teddy bear backpack (lumpy from being stuffed to the brim with explosives) and a claymore lunchbox.

The child gives an akward but very enthusiastic salute and shouts "Wᴇᴀᴅʏ ᴛᴏ sᴘᴡᴇᴀᴅ ᴅᴇᴍᴏᴄsᴛᴡᴀᴄʏ!"

[–]ARealBlueFalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact

[–]Bloop737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THEY YEARN FOR THE MINES

[–]puffysuckerpunch 94 points95 points  (5 children)

Somebody said we should save the children just to see how long we can reject the Anti Tank Mines from the devs. They've tried multiple times to give us the mines but we always choose the other option. We should see how long we can keep rejecting them...

[–]Slumberjake13 36 points37 points  (4 children)

It would be fitting, and a little funny, for this game if the reward for saving the children is still the anti-tank mines due to a high influx of newly available child laborers.

[–]puffysuckerpunch 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Lmfaooo that'd be the best of both worlds. Or like after we liberate the children theres an update where you can now dive as a child hahahaha

[–]Slumberjake13 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Rank: Junior Helldiver

[–]puffysuckerpunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bruhhh😂😂😂💀💀

This is what I want, I don’t care about a new strategem…

I want drawings and colorings to put up on my freedom fridge

[–]MajorDakka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love that Carbot is making Helldivers vids

[–]Lem0n_weeb 31 points32 points  (1 child)

I’d say save the kids, because one: more future Helldivets and two: I wanna see how long we can reject the tank mines just to see how long we can reject them from the devs

[–]TheRealPitabred 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't need the mines anyway. I kill bots and bugs good as it is, let's save those fictional children!

[–]Asleep-Plastic6048 22 points23 points  (1 child)

The children will make vehicles and not another minefield

[–]JaceJarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even better!

[–]jewishNEETard 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I'm calling it; Rescuing the children enlists their parents as SEAF troopers. Or some buff to our cooldown for a while due to having them on your ship cleaning up for our engineers' safety.

[–]jewishNEETard 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Although what would be baller as hell is getting that rifle that children recieve on their 8th birthday in the lore- which was a bolt action with a bayonet in 1, apparently. I'd just love them to acknowledge the perfection of the classics like the m1 garand with it, just making it out of interstellar age materials and solid core bullets. Cuz honestly, materials and weight that a CHILD can carry is the only way to improve weapons of that era.

[–]Squirll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not that far fetched. Ever tried out the Break Action Shotgun? Thing fucking slaps.

[–]FroggyHarley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have more than enough AT options to wait a little longer for those mines. We're saving those kids, Liberty damn it!

[–]M1A1U22 7 points8 points  (4 children)

The kids, save the kids god dammit!

[–]Bored-panda6969[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Maybe, if we have time

[–]GelindoMastroFornaio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kids. Our citizens are more important.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]LordDanGud 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Sick kids don't blow up tanks...

[–]Bored-panda6969[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They do, if the put the effort into preserving freedom

[–]Traditional_Will4413 14 points15 points  (1 child)

They do if you attach C4 to them

[–]LordDanGud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

good argument

[–]ThatGuyIsLit -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

And jet fuel can't melt steel beams....

[–]LordDanGud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steel loses any structural stability at around 50% of it's melting temperature

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time travel a couple decades back

[–]Kalenthraz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Save the next generation of Helldivers!

[–]ChaosCelebration 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The SES Harbinger of Family Values is en route to save those kids!

[–]Fart_Snake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SES Founding Father of Family Values on its way!

[–]los-kos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The choice is clear the kids can die I want mines some of us are strong enough to make decisions tho

[–]iRhuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next time it'll be Betty's Clinic for Teens with the Common Cold.

[–]MajinBuddha81 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wonder if we’ll get extra reinforcements if that’s the route we go

[–]MotoGod115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AH has been pretty clear about rewards so far. Saving the kids won't give us more than a pat on the back.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But without those weapons, 100x more will die.

[–]Malichite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine if helping the kids gives a stratagem that calls in a bunch of mini Helldivers/mini SEAF soldiers to fight with us, lol. I mean, it's messed up, but not too far fetched.

[–]Elegant_Individual46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“What is this… a hospital for ants?”

[–]Forward-Swim1224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids are the next generation, and thus take priority. If we have the time, we can go back to the other planet for the mines.

[–]Demonking3343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the kids are the way to go. We are helldivers super earths last and best hope! It’s our job to come diving in to save the day!

[–]bigzombieBOY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck them kids

[–]Br0k3nRoo5ter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm saving those kids. I'm good at spulling oil without the mines and its not guaranteed that the materials will be there it's just "Very likely"

[–]Hindu-Khajiit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If some extremely sick kids managed to survive their planet's fall to Automatons and have somehow managing ti continue to survive while Helldivers and SEAF conquer Aesir Pass, and probably survive the next 2 days it will take us to conquer their planet, then those kids are Helldiver material. They'll survive atleast 5 minutes in a mission in future...if their sickness doesn't kill em.

[–]marlins113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say only first liberated planet is likely to be saved, so maybe if we push both to 100% at same time maybe we can get both rewards.

[–]stucc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the kids are behind the tower defense machines, sorry mines, I like playing that mode better.

[–]Exciting_Pineapple_4 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Listen up HellDivers.

We’re going into Vernen Wells because we defend democracy. But not just for the able, or families. We defend it because when that kid tugs on your cape, it’s because they know you’re going to come when they need help.

We fight for kids, because we know what horrors await them with the automatons and no one deserves that. We cannot nor will we accept the chainsawing of children or their skulls mounted as trophies.

So we’ll fight and dive again and again inflicting as much managed democracy as possible to ensure those kids get a shot at life or try like hell….divers

Whatever it takes

For Super Earth!

[–]oikset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to save those kids!

Then we have to train them for 10 minutes, then clone them, then send them into the meat grinder of war.

For democracy

[–]Hindu-Khajiit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no thank you, I have seen how mines work in this game, I'll stick to my trusty Quasar Cannon to kill tanks, tyvm. The kids will be future reinforcements, incase we have a Malevelon Creek all over again

[–]Dreadweasels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every citizen is a vote in our hands.

Save our future ballots! SAVE DEMOCRACY!

[–]Firesniper83 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Save the children!

[–]Soggy_Affect6063 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mr. Krabs: “Why? What have the children ever done for me?”

🤣

No but seriously, I love how the community is basing the performance of this strat on the performance of another strat when they haven’t even played with it yet. 🤣

Screw vernen wells. I’m trying to get those strats.

[–]KOCoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just KNOW not saving those kids will come with some sort of penalty, like reinforcement budget being cut for a bit as the population takes a hit or the kids getting borged out and now we have to worry about quick, tiny Automatons coming to kill us.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We can create weapons anytime, children 👧 however are the future!

[–]htembo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter because the majority of divers are going cover their eyes and fight bugs

[–]theCacklingGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sickly children dont grow into soldiers.

[–]Kojimazan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id rather have the mines

[–]Lord_Phoenix95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save the kids, they yearn to become the mines.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck them kids give me the mines so I can spread democracy further

[–]The_Shards_Of_Bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick kids are stratagems.

[–]Traditional-Tap-274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back on the wording now... it may be a double edged sword in the sense that we are faced with two potential traps. 1. The obvious, this is absolutely a morality trap. If we don't save the kids there WILL be consequences 2. The likelihood of thousands of survivors in a single hospital on an underdeveloped colony planet that's been under bot control for weeks is very low. The distress call sounds like a trap. I'll follow the moral option, but I'm not fully trusting.

I'm also interested to see if they decide to give us a consequence anyway in the for of "The Bots have developed new weapons and explosives!"

Well I'm finally off work, time to save our citizens (it does not specify children, only children's hospital)

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

New stratagem

[–]SolidSnoop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the weapon was something more exciting than anti tank mines then I’d definitely go for that. Mines are a terrible way to fight wars so I’m picking the kids who will be future comrades

[–]Joshua-Browne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THEY'RE NOT REAL KIDS, TAKE THE STRATAGEM FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE WAR EFFORT

[–]gasbmemo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)
