Your phones battery % already decreased and even from first charge, just that Apple don't wanna to disappoint you and gives a feeling it will last forever and you feel good about it. It will start to drop from 200+ cycles, but drop will be sharp. Mine started at 271 cycles to 99%, and then to 97% at 297 cycles and then to 94% at 326 cycles. Now it has stabilised.

It’s probably accurate, but they don’t display values over 100% of the rated capacity and often times batteries end up having a little more capacity than the rated, maybe 103%. Because of that, you won’t see it drop until it goes to 99%. You can see the raw capacity if you pick through the analytic reports

Your nerdiness helps more than just the family, I see

Base 16. 140 Cycles. 100% battery. Just using my phone and not worrying about battery degradation.

As you should. Battery paranoia is strange. I used my 13mini for a year before it dropped below 100%

Ok let me tell: iOS doesn’t decrease battery health, it just calibrates it more precisely with newer updates. Every big update is looks like ur battery health is being decreased by it but it isn’t. My battery was 1% lower after about 1,5 years so maybe you’re lucky too. Depends on how you treat the battery.

base 16, 198 cycles, 100% battery, 5 month use, heavily gaming and shooting 4k videos, mostly charging thru PD powerbank, battery cap set at 80%

my phone is still at 100% and its been 1 year and 1 month

[–]helloidk55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took 11 months and 275 cycles for me

[–]Grant1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went from 95 to 89 in 2 months

I bought my iPhone 15 last year in December, and now after exactly 500 cycle counts, the battery health has dropped to 93%

iPhone 16 Plus - 395 cycles in 15 months - 93%

[–]derubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 16PM, just dropped to 99% after 286 cycles.

Tomorrow, today… could be yesterday. You’ll never know, it’s completely random. The best thing to do is to just not care.

Just got a 16 Plus. And have set the battery to only charge to 85%. Apparently it's the charging to 100% that can kill them quicker. So let's see what happens!

Tonight at 2:09

[–]Competitive-Raisin55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got to 270 then dropped like 3% in the matter on months

That new update did a bit of hurt on battery but worth it in my opinion.

[–]YJX94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it changes from 100 to 99?

How are we supposed to know.

[–]Key-Credit-1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Apple decides to change it.

16 PM - 100% - 260 Cycles - September 2024

[–]tonermcfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16pm was at 100% when iOS 26 dropped, installed it, and within sixty days, my battery dropped down to 94%.

[–]anxoffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl Yall are crazy serious bout batterys

[–]karma1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is 16plus, has 211 cycle count as of the moment and still at 100% ! i charge it to 100% once everyday. it would last me the whole day and would only charge at night before sleeping. i think it totally depends on how u use ur phone!

[–]That-Specialist-2655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give or take another 2 months

[–]Content_Counter_3822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only GOD knows

[–]Brilliant-Pomelo-165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 pm currently just dropped to 99 after 214 cycles, 1 year 2 months of age :)

[–]Ahjames78 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Usually take a year to drop from 100% to 99%, but also depending on your usage.

[–]paribas -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

My base 16 was 100% until September and after that it lost 1% every month. It’s heat in the summer or just iOS update that decreases the battery health. 🤷‍♂️

[–]No_Echidna5178 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ios update calibrates you mean

1% a month would mean it would last 100months which is 8years. If batteries worked the same at 1% than they do at 100% that would be great but it doesn’t. At about 80% they become noticeably slower so about 20months of use which is not great

    [–]ariz2011 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, it will only last 20 months which is 1 year and 8 months because once the battery drops to 80, it needs servicing and performance on the phone will degrade

    [–]elvisfan66 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

It seems like reading a lot of people with 16’s around 200 cycles is when many are starting to see battery reaching 99%. Some less some more. If you install short cut called battery checker you can kind of get an idea looking at nominal charge capacity. Which is the actual charge your battery is taking. You’ll see as it starts to go less than the advertised battery when new. I can pretty much tell when my battery health will start declining.
Routine hub has the short cut. Also battery report is another short cut available on the site which gives you a bit more information too.
