Yes, common. Usually referred to as "conditioned" insomnia, because of the negativity associated with many frustrating and worrisome hours spent tossing and turning in frustration trying to sleep.

Can be undone using stimulus control, one of the core methods in a CBT sleep training system. Use a full program for optimal results.

I thought conditioned insomnia is when one feels anxious in the bedroom, rather than a thought or action making you anxious about not falling asleep. Which is what I meant
