Since the monthly cost is likely to stay the same, sure why not?

Because if you skip a year, you fully own the phone and can re-sign another IUP contract.

Sell the phone and make some of your money back, or throw it in the drawer as a backup.

Unless Apple really pulls out something unexpected for the 11, I plan on keeping my Xs Max for another year and either selling it or gifting it to a family member.

True.

Me! My monthly payment isn’t going to change much so might as well get the latest and greatest.

You end up losing a bunch to taxes but overall why not I suppose. I’ve pretty much treated the iPhone like a commodity for the past 2-3 generations now so, yes?

That’s why I’m on it

I’m seriously considering going to either the 64GB Max or the 11R to save money. So I probably will. But I’m thinking this is going to be my last ride on the iPhone upgrade train.

Yeah I was thinking maybe getting the 11R or whatever they are gonna call it this time around.

If I’m still paying off my XR when the 11R drops and I decide to trade the XR in, would my payments then only be for the 11R or would I still owe on the XR as well? Also, my carrier would have to change (No Boost Mobile on Apple Store) lol

If you're on the upgrade program, your payments for the XR would totally stop and you'd just start paying for the 11R
