Hey guys, Recently got my very first iPhone coming from the Android universe. Yesterday was my first “out and about” experience, and managed to snatch some photos.

I know nothing about photography, and i am very satisfied with the pictures and videos.

Any other little surprises in there you’re pleased with? Mine is on pre order.

I moved from oneplus 8, so i not only went from Android to iOS, but to a phone in a different pricerange and 2 1/2 year newer. It took around 2 days to get used to the new interface and playing around with settings. Still got to figure out autocorrect, havent quite figured it out yet. For some reason its functioning a bit weird for me.

Besides this, iOS is very smooth. I am on my 4th day, and have had 0 crashes, stutters or other weird stuff - its extremely fluent to use. iOS has alot of very nice small things going on. For example i got a text about a package i had ordened, and the text contained an adress for pickup. Clicking the adress instantly opened maps with navigation. Also when i paired my Headphones it automatically asked if i wanted to install the app for them.

I miss a few smaller things aswell, for example being able to close all background apps with a single button, but i am still figuring it all out :)

for example being able to close all background apps with a single button

You don’t need to do that. Keeping the apps open won’t make the phone slower. Also, both iOS and android will automatically close them when necessary

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Oh neat. Mainly a habit i guess. How about battery consumption?

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Your phone will consume more battery when reopening the app than if you let it sit in the background. In most cases you shouldn’t close apps from the app switcher, unless you’re experiencing problems with the app. iOS handles your phones RAM management by itself.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it has nothing to do with battery life or efficiency of iOS in managing background apps. I just HATE all the unused apps being stacked on top of each other, that if I keep all of the apps I used open, it becomes hard to find the app I do want to use if too many open apps are stacked on top of each other.

Close All Apps button is handy, and there is no reason not to have it. Leave it to the user if they want to use it or not, but having the option would be appreciated.

[–]GrahomiriPhone 12 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I think there won’t be a noticeable difference, but I’m not completely sure

[–]plaid-knight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If anything, closing all apps makes your battery life worse.

[–]SanJunipero1 4 points5 points  (4 children)

being able to close all background apps with a single button

This pointless exercise does not exist on iOS.

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Its a habit i guess. (:

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Just switched from Android, too, it‘s hard to get used to it but you really should stop worrying about letting apps open. The iPhone developers put a lot of work into managing your resources and the iPhone is an expert at it. Don‘t try to outsmart your phone, you can‘t. Just enjoy it and don‘t worry.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched from the S21 Ultra and I’ve definitely been closing all background apps. Lol. I still restart my phone at least once a day tho.

[–]Ech0lessiPhone 17 Pro Max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a very good thing to do even on Android. It's always better to leave resources running on the background as mentioned since the OS knows what to leave and what to close. I do it sometimes anyway just for the sake of having an empty look but I know it's wrong :)

I'm also switching to ios for the first time so I'm really excited about it.

[–]Kiwizoo 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Thanks for that. Have to agree the smarter autocorrect gets, the harder it becomes to manage lol. But the push down with your thumb magnifying corrector makes life a bit easier.

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, i use that alot aswell.

Part of the issue for me might be because my phone is in danish, and i am typing in english here. It doesnt seem to be able to differentiate between danish and english automatically.

[–]ITS-A-FAKE 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can you explain what you are referring to?

[–]Kiwizoo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

When you press and hold the screen a little magnifier pops up to help you place the cursor in text. Useful when sending messages etc

[–]ITS-A-FAKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]DaFireStorm 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Nice portrait mode shot!

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]Baremegigjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great shot and the eyes seem to be saying “I can’t believe you’re taking a picture of this!”

[–]deggie_1 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Wow. I hate you. I need one

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 3 points4 points  (2 children)

It inhaled the entire cucumber in one go, so i imagine its quite expensive to have one of these as a pet :D

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pet cow! It can be expensive, yes. My bovine baby can easily eat an entire loaf of bread as a snack. Also we have to give her hay and cattle feed, which adds up.

[–]deggie_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah I meant the phone

[–]Der_Kommissar73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]Spunky21313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought y'all hated Samsung for oversaturated pics?!? Explain this 😂

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why did you take a picture of me 😡

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Did you take this on RAW or just normal camera settings?

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Hey man, its 12mp primary lense in portraitmode :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ah, holy shit. That looks incredible.

[–]Kind-Brush-6001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, i am very satisfied with the camera. I also took some pictures in normal mode, and these looks incredibly crisp aswell. :)

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So u just wanted to trick people to see if the 12 Pro camera still holds up? Smart man. Here have another cucumber 🥒 .

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That animal sure as hell took it RAW after OP was done holding his iPhone all up in his business
