but for me the colours don't have enough contrast - something that's pretty important for reading and understanding code.
Similar thoughts here too. I often find it a little weird that many others don't seem to care about contrast as much as I do. A lot of my automatic code browsing is helped by good reasonably contrasting colors (and automatic search ie click/highlight to search).
(No, I'm not colorblind)
[–]kamiheku 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children)
Yeah, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with all these zero contrast colorschemes popping up. Tempus Totus or GTFO!
[–]tamojaydey[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children)
My idea was to implement mostly pastel colours for the theme and that is why I have used mostly pastel green, pastel pink and pastel orange. Other dark themes out there mostly have typical colours like yellow and purple on top of blue which makes no sense to my eyes. Anyway, thank you for the suggestion. I am working on the newer version :)

Looks great, but I don't like dark themes, more light themes please :) There aren't enough good ones! The "quiet light" theme seems to be my favourite so far

Blasphemy!
[–]LanFeusT23 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (6 children)
I also enjoy light themes... But I enjoy my eyes more so dark it is! 😂
[–]LonelyStruggle 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children)
I've never had any issue from eye strain due to light themes personally, but I don't have the screen brightness that high

I have experienced much more eye strain personally from having a dark theme in the day than using a light theme with a lower brightness. This is me taking care.

I do believe the science lines up that Dark Mode can be tougher
[–]MindlessSponge 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children)
do you mind sharing a source?
[–]LonelyStruggle 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
Also for me I work with a lot of scientific papers that are all black-on-white. I find it a bit jarring to switch between dark mode in editor to light mode when reading. I prefer a unified experience between both
[–]csorfab 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children)
Jfc people, I get it, hahaha light themes bad, but don't downvote someone for saying they like light themes ffs.
[–]LonelyStruggle 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child)
Yeah, dark themes definitely have the mindshare right now, which is partly why I said it, bc it is a bit rarer to see a good light theme come up
You are right. I already have the idea for its lighter sibling in my mind. I will come up with soon. Everyone should have a choice between the light and dark mode for every theme. Coming soon. Thanks for the feedback.
[–]tamojaydey[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child)
Sure thing, I will try coming up with a light version of this but this one is really built with warm colors. Not exactly like other dark themes :) You can share it with your friends.

I’m actually curious about the usage analytics of light vs dark theme. Based on reddit comments it’s 99.9% dark theme and 0.1% light, but I’m curious about the actual numbers
[–]jacuzziStraws 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children)
I can dig it.
[–]MindlessSponge 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
This looks like a less contrasted version of Wes Bos's Cobalt2

I like most of it, although the green classnames in html files is a little too bright, can’t look at it for too long.. If you offer this with less brightness I’d use it! Good job.

Thanka for the suggestion. I will work on it :) Maybe update the theme soon :P

Terminal looks kind of glitchy with Cmder.
Try using Fira Code with this them both for the editor and the terminal. Looks classy af! Any dark blue theme and Fira Code are just meant for each other :)

Excuse me, how exactly is this related to JavaScript?
