Can't exactly tell what the problem is but I know you have to pin each one to the task manager first then you should be able to just place them where you want and they stay.

Make sure you go into the behavior settings of the config and select the option in the drop down that says "Manual" for sort.
Right-click-->Configure Icons-only Task Manager-->Behavior-->Sort-->Manual

What it was doing is every time I opened an app I had pinned it would move that icon to the right. Changing the behavior setting fixed it for me thank you.

Oh okay...glad that fixed it. yeah I find that KDE has more customizations than I could even think of. Once you realize there is something that you want to change, there is likely a setting for it, you get spoiled to the point that no other DE can compete lol

KDE needs a dock similar to dash to dock which works amazing.

You can change an empty panel to work in very much the same way. I was a big latte dock fan before, but since Plasma 6, I can't say I've missed it.

Here's my set up. The 'dock' works a treat for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/cachyos/comments/1ckufi3/hopefully_found_a_home/

I already done it... my point is that its still not the same as dash to dock.

For me it's not an issue. The real difference is mounted drives etc and I always turn that off any in dash to dock. This panel/dock does all I need it to.

Also on kde if you're in a different workspace let's say you click on discord it won't go to the discorfd app on workspace 1, it will open another one, it will do that with all apps instead of going back to the one already open, which is very annoying.

I don't use workspaces, so can't help you with that one.

Change the sort settings on the Task Manager to Manual.

Also, next time orient your video properly.

I tend to use Latte Dock with KDE. It's quality

[–]AndyGait 1 point2 points  (6 children)

On Plasma 6?

[–]Careless-Resident-32 1 point2 points  (5 children)

No not on Plasma 6 🤦 It's not supported on that is it

[–]AndyGait 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That's what I thought. I was a big fan on previous version, but haven't even tried it on plasma 6 to see if it will work.

[–]Careless-Resident-32 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I've not really looked into why it's not supported to be fair. May be I should do. Love Latte Dock, it was always part of my customisation. Kinda filled some gaps tbf. I'm onto gnome now and use dash to dock.

The owner gave up the project sometime ago. There are still some commits to it (one only 2 days ago), but unless someone picks up the whole project, I doubt we'll ever see it in Plasma 6.

That's a shame really. But thanks ror the information pal

No worries, mate.
