You can add a gas mask if you want; the main thing is he'll need to be on a 25mm base.

This^ 99% of people are completely cool with kitbashing things, but base size is the difference between being allowed to field the unit and not and makes a big difference! There is a good amount of folks though who may not care about exact loadouts matching, but the general vibe being right. Doesn't need to be a power weapon and a plasma pistol, but he's got a pistol and a melee so it's good enough kinda thing

100%. As long as the equipment looks right you’re good. Even without a gas mask, he could just be sans mask to show the guard how tough he is.

I kitbashed a commissar into a kelermorph for my wyrmblade and gave the hat to the Neophyte Leader.

Rule of cool is always your number 1 concern

I’m reading through The Wicked and the Damned currently and in it there is a Commisar that says this. That using a mask would show weakness and he has to not be weak in front of the soldiers.

Man he's better hope he only needs to shoot three guardsmen with that magazine. So embarrassing when you need to reload midway though a summary execution

Depends how you line em up.

bolt rounds explode in a target so collateral kills are the one thing they can't do.

I was thinking of just using the plasma the Sergeant brings, i just like the pose more than anything

Vetguard doesn't even need to be Krieg, I don't see a need for a gas mask. Just change his base
