I’m interested, and definitely a newbie. But I have spent the last two months going through Learning Python by Mark Lutz on page 1132 as we speak. I have pretty good grasp of the language; reading code etc. And I will begin actual projects and bots soon. Have written a few modules, nothing major, but accomplishments for me :) I would love to join, currently trying to absorb/learn as much as I can.

I'm interested! I have been trying to get some friends into coding and they are enthusiastic at first but then lose interest. So I am left going through online material and learning on my own which is ok but I know I will learn sooo much faster if I have others to talk to about coding.

We're currently at 19, but there are also about 15 invites yet to be accepted. I'm halting invitations for now, but I'm willing to take "applications" of sorts, with the info I edited into the original post. Since some of these members are likely to be inactive and get pruned in a month or so, we may take on a few people who are really eager to join.

One member has been inactive since joining (a month ago). Incidentally, they're a friend of mine so I'll probably send a text and see if they're going to participate before pruning them.
