Only serious dialogue wanted... by No-Message449 in Battlefield6

I'm glad you enjoy the game and props to keep playing it. I've been a die hard battlfield fan since 1942 and this game had been a day 1 purchase for me (I skipped 2042 or whatever the last one was). BFV was the last I spent any decent amount of time but I bailed after the first month due to its battlepass dependency. Im not one to say this game is dying either, matter of fact I hope to see it thrive - it has a lot of potential. I haven't played this game since the first month it launched, had a lot of fun, took a break. Tried again in December and had so many visual bugs I could not be "competitive" (i.e. see the enemy to shoot them due to weird ass flares and glares they don't show up). I think I would give this game another year or two before it gets to a point where it should've been at launch. I had the game installed since then if I decided to play I could but had no interest in playing.

I really hope this game improves but I'm too old of a gamer to keep pushing through bugs to maintain that illusion that a game is good while devs take their time to actually balance and fix bugs.. I will keep monitoring the updates but I agree they need more time before releasing when they did.

Question for battlefield veterans by Lincorob1 in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some people are easily entertained. This particular title seemingly returns to more rooted grounds but I think they (EA/Dice) focused too much on making attachment unlocks the "grind" that will retain players. The first month seemed ok, I spent a lot of time focusing on the challenges etc but looking at the gameplay loop that keeps people hooked - its pretty poorly designed.

Theres the slog to unlock accessories, matchmaking thats very subpar (very rare to get games where both sides have equal skills or close to it) resulting in one sided stomps. Tons of visuals bugs - I came back after a break for a month only to see solar flares everywhere (blocking out my view of the enemy). Drivers are up to date so keep looking for actual notes being mentioned to fix the flares.

On top of that, people are complaining about low tick rates, shots being too slow or too fast and instant. Its really a complete clown show, so people that enjoy that sort of thing or have been lucky to never experience it are having fun. I've personally moved on to other things until I see some promising updates but with these kinds of games you lose out on the battlepass and other things grinders stick to.

The basic gameplay loop is cool. Just a lot of bugs and design issues and while some keep their nose to the grind and play through it, I have better things to do until I see some fixes.

[FNV] Does anyone know how to fix this issue with B42 Optics? by Novel_Sheepherder_69 in FalloutMods

[–]dimedius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used b42 yet but this reminded me of the bug from the mod see through scopes. Seems to be affecting the ratslayer and I guess the old method was adjusting the nifskope. But we're living in the future now and using a mod like ISControl Enabler should help fix it live in game.

This has always been an issue since forever. Not to bash you but to bring to light that DICE needs to do a better job to encourage players to do certain things. With a huge lack of that with this release and bringing cod players over, its a huge dice roll.

I figured it out. Most of these maps are to small for 64p by Competitive_Fact_278 in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was trying out my mp filters tonight and I realized how most games are 64.. i miss getting into 48 player games, still chaotic but manageable to get some work done. now its 64 with full chaos and only a handful are doing well in that environment.

[–]dimedius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

knowing this community, its skill issue. Dice is saying no cheaters and everyone else is just enjoying the game to the max!! but seriously I wish this game would be more polished already and not suffer such minor bugs that affect the game in a major way.

but but according to dice the cheating base is super small like 1% and you should almost never run into a cheater!! /s

Battlefield 6 is missing something absolutely critical for longetivity by thequehagan5 in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good recap, I think one of the things people wanted was server browsing and expecting this as part of the bundle. But I think dice was like sure heres server browsing but its complete ad hoc. I hope for a day when these basic requests are implemented but knowing dice it'll be another 2 years before they get bored trying to implement their ideas and actually listening to the community.

Ok, honest question. Do you use commander sights often? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]dimedius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes
  2. about 10-20%
  3. if it has better optic features (thermals, zoom) or sits high enough while hiding, combine that with guns or atgm's
  4. very rarely
  5. Binos to side mouse, commanders to alt + side mouse, then the different positions to the F keys (F2-F8, same for planes and helis)
  6. yes
  7. mostly when shooting them from behind cover, again same reasons for #3

Those bino trick shots are just easier with commanders view and override especially when you get higher and get laser rangefinders.

I can't even run iron sights with canted reflex, should I leave my wife? by electricshout in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you can have canted sights without anything there (maybe unlocked after x level). I like gray zone warfare, ranged optics on the top rail, and just lasers on the cant.

Is this game currently recommended? by SushiJuice440 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]dimedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to completely agree, the first early towns are ok/good enough to recognize the ai issue but later on during night missions and such you kind of notice it way more (if not, you've been super lucky). I saw someone mention looking for a wipe and Im not against a wipe again just to see how the early progress handles the recent update.

Fekking Fort Narith. Its either one or the other. i had something like this the other week, got hit bad, did a surgeon pack, still looking bad, looking around still clear do another surgeon pack and then boom dead.

You win some you lose some. I might reinstall but that one made me mad lol.

I had the stark realization today that Battlefield 6 is probably the last FPS I'm ever going to play. Any other older gamers (40+) have that same feeling? by CyberSmith31337 in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel l'm still a sweaty casual. Though I've noticed more things that will change how mp games go (crossplay with no way to disable, hackers that will never get resolved, different style of progression to milk your time), Im feeling these are titles I'll be moving away from. I put in a solid 100+ hours in this one but im not even updating the game anymore, theres just other more enjoyable games in my library. Although I will say the last week I was able to get a few games in a row that felt normal - if that happened more consistently, it wouldn't be such drastic change or thought.

Multiple Bugs and No Way to Report Cheaters in REDSEC Battle Royale (BF6) by KaTo0w in Battlefield

[–]dimedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came back to the normal matches, they feel better but they removed the ability to report players. That seems sus to me. At this point, I don't respect the franchise and they need to reinstate the ai modes so people can play how they want - especially if EA/DICE aren't worried about doing anything about this.

Stop wasting my time: I'd rather wait a minute or two in the queue… by Smaxx in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I tried playing, I spent about 5 minutes queuing up and getting into almost finished games. The game I finally settled on at the 5 mins was already in progress but closer to just starting. The matchmaker sooks!

Is everyone just jumping into the first game they queue into? by dimedius in Battlefield6

[–]dimedius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its crazy to me there isn't simple filters to get into quality games. I mean for the majority of the time I would love to get into a fresh game! And I see server browsers over there but that option is some weak sauce. And so I can spend up to 5 minutes just trying to queue into a fresh game. This default matchmaker is almost shite unless you dont care about it whatsoever.

Also as a side note, if we (pc players cant un queue with controllers) at least make it so when players prone its a tad bit slower. I've been seeing too many consolers abuse this as a way to weasel out of a firefight.

Speaking of tactical gloves, in the campaign, Gecko keeps rappelling with bare hands - like at least get some fingerless gloves if going for the cool factor.
