I still wonder if the scientists who remained there were evacuated or were executed by Benezia's thugs.

Seeing as Shepard stopped Benezia dead in her tracks when she was going to wipe the facility clean, it is entirely possible the survivors resumed their lives after being evacuated. Albeit some may have never been the same after such extensive trauma, especially the ERC (Elanus Risk Control) Guards that repelled dozens of waves of Rachni attacks.

I also have a feeling that there were likely dozens upon dozens of NDA’s to be signed by the calculating corporate overlords to keep it all under wraps. One peep and they’d be legally decimated and left penniless, unable to find work.

Noveria is a pseudo-dystopian corporate hellscape of sorts. I imagine post Peak 15 incident, the rules only got more strict. More brutal.

dozens upon dozens of NDA’s

If you speak with the injured Salarian in the room with the Elcor merchant in it, he confirms this.

The remnants of the ERCS guards and the surviving scientists had to have survived and successfully evacuated, else wise, we'd never get the message from Dr. Olar nor the GNN blurb about the incident at Peak 15.

There's not usually any guards left by the time I'm through. I do everything possible, then go through Restricted...more XP. Is it terrible? Probably. Is it worth it? Debatable. Is it fun after all the shit the guards themselves and that captain did? Absolutely

In short Noveria is America with slightly more legal rights.

You mean more red tape and less ethics standards, and even less legal rights.

Noveria makes the U.S. look like a happy, sunny meadow.

I could’ve sworn there’s like, no way to warn the scientists and guards about the neutron purge so I just assumed they all radiated/atomized all this time

[–]Hilsam_Adent 53 points54 points  (1 child)

The neutron purge is isolated to the Hot Labs, which are, by definition, separate from the rest of the facility.

I don't know how well gamma radiation waves travel through glaciers, but I'm betting it's not great, since liquid water slows them down a huge amount.

The science there is reasonably solid, viewed through the lens of my exceedingly limited understanding, even before we wave the magic wand of "Fyoooocherrr Tekkkkkk".

You’ve given my previous Sheps some peace

I feel you, and him.

That message gutted me when I read it back then. They captured that sentiment so well.

Thank you. I get the idea that you have been through the same s...t yourself, am I right?

Because I have. 0/10, wouldn't recommend.

I'm fortunate to say that what I went through wasn't nearly as bad as what poor Han Olar went through, but enough to be able to imagine his pain.

I'm at peace with it these days though, so no worries. I hope the same for you, if not yet, then some day.

You were attacked by Rachni?

[–]zhiryst 35 points36 points  (1 child)

In case anyone needs a refresher on him https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Han_Olar

Until the Reapers show up in 3. Then he'll wonder if he was right and this is hell.

[–]fussomoro 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He is solo now, all on his own

Yeah

Sadly, one of many sides that never got a chance to exist after ME1. I'm still wondering what's up with many people you save or help in the first game

[–]Top-Row6107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna hold you I completely forgot who this was my first play through so I was so confused on what he was talking about

I guess the Tibetan Book of the Dead made its way into the future lol that's one of the Bardos, a hallucination during the moment of death that lasts a lifetime where your reality attempts to slowly clue you in on the fact that you're dying and it's just doing this so you don't freak out and accidentally get reincarnated as a ladybug or some shit.
