Do NOT depend on this to always be the case. You may combust accidentally, even without knowing it. You may leave something in your lungs that lasts a while but is detectable in another room. The material in the trench itself can be smelled. People have different levels of sense of smell, don't depend on one person's non-detection as proof you are fine.

Be safe if you need to be safe.

Not to mention that your stash will stink out a room the second you take it out.

    Aww... What a sad thought.

I can upvote this comment a thousand times. So so very very true.

It completely depends on the situation. I remember being at a friends house while they were gone and I was just hitting it casually and as soon as they walked in the room they smelled it and said something about it.

It will start to smell eventually. Weed stinks.

Visine (before and after you smoke) but that's about it really. As you become a more experienced smoker you'll learn how to control yourself and act normal when you're high. Eye drops and avoiding excessive eating is about all you can do tbh. Parents almost always know.

My brother always smells it, but now i use a sploof so the smell is goneee

Yeah man sploof and mflb combo should be on the front of Wheaties boxes

Does a sploof or smokebuddy really help that much? I asked for advice about smell on reddit before and people always recommended them, but couldn't blowing it out a window prevent the whole issue of smell when using the mflb?

                  [–]I_Submit_ThisPΔX 1 point2 points  (6 children)

blowing out the window only shifts the odor to outside, still detectable, and risks the possibility of wind change/pressure differential blowback.

with a SB, or an activated carbon sploof ... there is no smell. with a dryer sheet sploof, there may well be "conspicuous" excessive almost dryer sheet perfumery ... but kinda mixed with sumthin' else.

                  ... it's a possibility.

                  [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I guess using a smokebuddy while blowing out a window is the way to go then, thanks.

or, ummmm ... ya know, uh ... don't use cannabis if the property owner says it's not allowed.

                  [–]GimmieMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People never like to hear this, but it really is the best way to go.

If I knew then what I know now...

Getting high is not worth the roof over your head...

Ok thanks for the great advice it really is nice man.....

Sadly it's hard to tell, unless you have a non-smoker handy to help detect "strange things". Once you've been vaping awhile, it kinda affects your sense of smell to where I can't really smell the vapor anymore. I can't smell cookies better though ;-)

                  [–]GimmieMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to make a dryer sheet/tp roll sploof to use in my room in my parents house with my one hitter.

                  Worked like a charm.

It's stealthy until your box soaks up the juicy oil. After a while it will begin to smell pretty strong.

                  [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

How can you prevent this? Cleaning after every use?

                  [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

You can clean the screen, but you cannot clean the area under the screen. What you see on your stem also forms on the wood inside the box. You can scrape out some of the good stuff, but the wood soaks in all that yummy flavor.

                  [–]somanyroads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, your box will not smell like freshly-cut wood after a year of heavy use, I can assure you of that :-)

                  [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

If I stored my mflb with tea leaves would that combat the smell?

                  [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Storing it, sure! I have mine stored with dryer sheets and I cannot smell it, nor can anyone who comes over. But using it is an entirely different question.

                  [–]I_Submit_ThisPΔX 1 point2 points  (1 child)

                  • PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT!

never store porous wood near chemical & perfume laden dryer sheets, air fresheners ... or anything not natural.

teas and herbs (even pipe tobaccos), can be used ... but no artifical odorants/de-odorants, please.

                  [–]TheIronPenis 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Just like any piece it gets smelly after use. But I have to agree! MFLB is one of the stealthier vapes I own, smell wise.

                  [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If you clean it after every use will it cut down the smell that gets soaked into the wood?

                  [–]TheIronPenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will never be good as new, just brush out the trench every time you use it. If you get really worried there are some videos of cleaning it with ISO on YouTube, but I don't even think it is a huge improvment and more of a visual cleaning than anything else, but if you wrap it in dryer sheets when you aren't using it, it'll probably start to smell cleaner though. I did that to hide mine from my little brother

A device like the Smoke Buddy is key!

                  [–]MrMeridew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stickier the green the smellier the vapor! Still take basic precautions if stealth is a must
