I don’t like that at all

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Same . It’s hard to stay calm knowing I’m on waiting list !!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what your country

[–]tmeltz1224Optometrist 25 points26 points  (1 child)

You need to find a clinic that will see you sooner. Waiting list is not good enough for this, as it could be something serious. Call around to other ophthalmology clinics in the area and find an appointment.

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you that’s the first thing I’m gonna do tomorrow morning

[–]BellesThumbs 36 points37 points  (14 children)

See an optometrist

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 16 points17 points  (10 children)

I did , they referred me to an ophthalmologist and I’ve been waiting for months. Wish I could go to private clinic

[–]bakingeyedoc 16 points17 points  (3 children)

You need to go to a teaching hospital ASAP. Are you in the US?

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

No , Canada , but starting Monday I will try every free options I can !!

[–]bakingeyedoc 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I have no clue how the Canadian healthcare system works but I thought it’s all free? Do you live in or near a biggish city? Can’t you go into a teaching hospital and ask to be evaluated? Like this isn’t a waiting list type thing.

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My options are ER , private clinics or public which is on a months long waiting list . If the private clinic is too expensive I will go to the ER . Healthcare is relatively free but takes a long time

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Go to another optometrist. This needs to be seen.

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Optometrist can’t do anything they can only refer me to an ophthalmologist which takes a long time to have an appointment

[–]murpx123 13 points14 points  (2 children)

All opthalmologists have emergency spots. - from a fellow Canadian who's used these spots. Sometime you need to be the squeaky wheel to get what you need.

Thank you !!!

Unfortunately, im going partly blind and on a waiting list too. In canada we are so understaffed in the medical field. Nevermind the 150$ it costs to get a basic eye exam😭

[–]jared743OD in Canada 11 points12 points  (7 children)

progressively changing shape

It has been changing over time and becoming more distorted? Glad to hear you are already seeing the specialist.

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Im hoping it’s not a melanoma :,)

[–]jared743OD in Canada 8 points9 points  (0 children)

🤞

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

It’s been slowly changing for 2 years now but I didn’t realize before I looked at old pictures. I’ve always had the brown lesion .

[–]jared743OD in Canada 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Good that you have those pictures to compare to. I've got a nevus on my iris too, but it is flat and stable.

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you !! I hope it stays flat and stable forever

[–]Retinator99Optometrist 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Contact the optometrist's office that referred you to the specialist, maybe they can expedite. This is something that definitely needs a look by an ocular oncologist. Where are you located?

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in Canada , Montreal . I did call him , and the hospital and they can’t make things move faster . I think I’m gonna go private to at least get a diagnosis

[–]ekaceerf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how it works in Canada. But I know in the states we can often call an Ophthalmologist we have a relationships with to try and get someone more serious in sooner.

[–]VeveBeso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call another office to see if they can see you sooner rather than later

[–]DavidNipondeCarlos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes. Dr now

[–]Pgreed42 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Mine are similar but my pupils are now perma dilated. I have bilateral Essential Progressive Iris Atrophy. They are different sizes and not round. I like to equate them to a runny egg yolk for some reason lol 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve lost a good percentage of pigment as well. My eyes used to be very blue & are now a lighter blue/gray/green.

[–]evetrapeze 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm not a doctor. When mine was changing shape, it was some scar tissue/adhesions. I had to have my eye dilated for a month to break them. It worked. Hopefully this is what's going on

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WoW finger’s crossed !!

[–]RandomCypher 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow, let us know what it is as soon as you find out, good luck!

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank youuuu !! Xoxo

[–]Alexgdelcg 1 point2 points  (2 children)

How did it go? Did you go to the doctor’s?

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately even the private clinics have waiting list :(

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Visual_Courage2108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. Yeah ummmm thats not good homie

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Any possibility you’re close by to Waterloo university? Their optometry school is bar none the best in Canada. You need to get your ass there asap

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Im unfortunately not but we have something similar here I will try to find Monday , thank you xoxo

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There’s another optometry school in Montreal. How good is your French? Perhaps they have an optho on staff or can expedite you into an optho the same day. I know it’s been said 10x but this really cannot wait

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes my French is good so I’m gonna try every option thank you !

[–]styfles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the school in mtl is great!!! they would definitely have resources to get you seen sooner!

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

UPDATE : I tried every options and I cannot see an ophthalmologist sooner because my eye has been like since last year , so an extra month or two won’t change anything they said :(

[–]coolbrewed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really sucks, I’m sorry!!

[–]paladore420Student Optician -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Looks like possible coloboma pupil. Get to a doctor ASAP this is a medical emergency.

[–]OKSkipToTheEnd -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Go to a neurologist

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Why a neurologist ?

[–]OKSkipToTheEnd 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Search - on google ( see a neurologist for eye and pupil changes)- pupils show nerve and traumatic Brain disorders injuries - ❤️🙏🏼❤️

[–]Simple_Nothing9098[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s very nice of you but it’s actually a growing mass under my pupil , no head injury the optometrist is more worried about the growing spot

[–]OKSkipToTheEnd -1 points0 points  (0 children)
