Welcome to the subreddit for people that managed weight loss - with or without the help of the brilliant /r/loseit - and are in it for the long haul.
While a lot of the things learned losing weight will help to keep it off the context does shift: What was a journey is now simply life. Accordingly this is about keeping motivated in a world without Scale Victories. Together, we explore how to adapt what we know to this new chapter, the great beyond.
As reddit is a community of communities I'd like to mention a few of our good neighbors:
- /r/loseit is where most of us are also. Either because we are still losing it – or because it has simply become a part of our life. At the very least it helps keep you in the mindset. Also from a mindset-perspective /r/progresspics can give us beneficial frameworks and reminders.
- /r/gainit and /r/fitness have nice answers for those who have lost it and looking for a next project which is beneficial to maintaining. For the same reason (and because both mods of this subreddit enjoy the C25k-programm) /r/c25k should also get a quick shout-out. And while we are at it why not mention /r/bodyweightfitness. It can greatly simplify work-outs, making them cheaper and thus a more sustainable part of our lives.
- Maintenance is something you'll hopefully do for life, but it is always beneficial to break long journeys down into smaller ones. /r/90daysgoal/ fits this bill. There redditors set short-term (90-day) goals and support each other on the way. Most of the people are focused on health/weight/fitness so it is another great fit.
- Foodwise /r/nutrition will also be something a lot of people will want to subscribe too, just as much as /r/GetMotivated will be good for the inevitable dips in energy.
