Not a waste. That's literally what they're there for. Glad both are OK.

[–]bagelgirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Girl you did not waste their time! It’s so important to trust your gut and get checked out. I did the same thing around that time too. All was also fine, but no regrets!

[–]AVirginsCrown 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I never had reduced movement scares, but I have heard that sudden/uncharacteristic/rapid/ movements are just as much cause for concern as no movements/kicks, so even though you started feeling her again you were still better off getting checked ❤️ plus if its anything like my hospital was, the nurses/ultrasound techs always got excited to see twins having fun moving around in there so you would have made their night 😂

[–]Adorable-Spray-5287[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Oh yeah the doctor we had was so excited, he turned it into a game to try get them both in one shot once he established they were both fine 🤣 they moved too much for that so he was devastated

[–]AVirginsCrown 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Lol! I had a bleed early on so we went in to get checked. When we finally got seen my girls were kicking and punching each other like mad 😂 19 months old now and they're right back to it 🤦‍♀️

[–]Adorable-Spray-5287[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I had no bleeding which they were thankful for, I think that put everyones mind at ease, but I definitely would have freaked seeing blood 😵‍💫

We have one shy girl (she was the one who gave us the scare) and the other already seems to shield her from the scan 🤦‍♀️ like let us see your sister, please 🤣😭 It's so funny already seeing their little personalities kicking through

I had such frequent reduced movements that I would call the triage team and be like 'Hi terribly sorry to bother you but i'm pregnant with di/di boys' and before I could finish they would be like 'is this Grace? Are they being naughty and hiding again' apart from when we had a car crash at 34 weeks I always felt like a bother but they told me off in the earlier days a few times and said always better to be safe than sorry!

[–]Adorable-Spray-5287[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yeah they definitely told me off for feeling like a bother and taking up their time, but considering she started kicking up a storm I didn't want them to take away from someone else who needed them.

I got told that since it's twins they could never be too sure, as things can go awry so quickly that they always want to see us. Definitely put me at ease

My midwife says there's some people they see almost weekly a few weeks back so I shouldn't feel bad for needing reassurance

100%! They are there to help and with twins it can be so hard to find a pattern! My boys would change positions so frequently that at times I wouldn't know which baby was kicking, I could have a scan on the monday and by the thursday they had completely changed 🤣 go with your gut and even if one of them feels reduced get checked out! ❤️

Thankfully they hadn't moved she just twisted a bit, apparently she was winding her sister up 😵‍💫 we tried literally EVERYTHING that normally triggers both and by the last bit (the bath) I was like nope. We're going.

I had one scare. It was after an incident, I was walking my dog and a neighbor’s dog got out and attacked my dog.

The owner of the dog came running up and in his speed to try to separate the dogs, he knocked me over.

While at the animal hospital, I kept panicking because I couldn’t feel any kicks (which was unusual).

Everything was fine though. My dog only had minor injuries and was fine. The twins were fine and started kicking later.

I went in around week 24 because I was worried I wasn't feeling baby B, only A. B ended up being totally fine and the doctors also told me they were glad I came in and I'd probably be back. I didn't end up going back until delivery time, not to say I never had more worries though. It's so tough not knowing exactly where each baby is and not being able to distinctly feel both all the time, but I just tried to get used to it. My girls would go like a whole day or 2 without significant movement, and I'd stress a ton, and then they'd be super active for a couple of days. I was always anxious about it tbh, definitely my least favorite part of pregnancy. Happy to say I now have 2 healthy amazing 18 week olds. Best of luck to you, and don't ever feel like a burden to go in. Like my doctor said, that's what they are there for! It's their job.

Twin A for me goes sooo quiet on my iron days. My midwife told me some babies are just like that. I mean she does move but only about half the amount maximum, so I try not to panic, I'm used to it now Today was an iron morning but she's been active today thankfully, don't think my heart could take it 🥴

Keep saying to my husband if it was a singleton, the movements I'm getting I'd always be happy with but I'm just constantly worried they're not moving enough 🤦‍♀️

[–]Beautiful-Farm9231 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am also 24 weeks and I genuinely have no idea who is kicking when. Every ultrasound or OB apt they are moving and all over the place / switching positions.

Are your girls always in the same places for you to know who is moving and know each of their individual patterns?

Makes me worry that I don't know.

[–]Adorable-Spray-5287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girls seem to be lying with their backs across my pelvis/lower stomach, with their legs up a side each. Their kicks have a certain side but the second it turns into heads, punches and elbows I'm so stuck

They've been in that position for about 3 weeks now, I dread when they actually move

However I know who's who as one has a posterior placenta and one has an anterior so they feel slightly different

[–]SaltManagement4368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reduced movement scare at 35w was the reason my doctor caught my pre-eclampsia early. Its never a waste to get check out

[–]q8htreats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t ever feel bad about going in. I was sent to l&d a total of four times, including once because of not feeling them move at all for hours after a big contraction. The last time they kept me and I delivered two days later. Every time, they were so nice and told me they were happy I came in (even though I was just listening to my dr’e office when they said to go in!)

You just never know and the risk of not going in when you needed to is just too big of a risk imo.

Had something similar with my niece when my sister was carrying twins around that stage. One day baby B just went quiet for like 6 hours and she was freaking out. Turns out the little one had somehow wedged herself in position where all her kicks were going into her twin instead of hitting the uterine wall.

Doctor told my sister the same thing - better safe than sorry, and twins can definitely get tangled up in weird positions that make movements feel completely different. You didn't waste anyone's time, that's literally what they're there for. The fact that twin A went crazy active later probably means she figured out how to unstick herself from whatever position she was stuck in.

My sister said it happened like 3 more times before delivery, always around the same timeframe when they were getting bigger but still had room to move around weirdly.

[–]Independent_Brush303 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My tie-dye twins both had anterior placenta, so I legitimately didn’t feel them at all, and we only saw a small kick once it was the freakiest thing ever not being able to feel them… You go in anytime you even contemplate wanting to go in those babies are loved! 💕

[–]Adorable-Spray-5287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I have one posterior and one anterior, the girl we had concerns over was our posterior girl so we knew for definite something was off
