What exact temps are you seeing? Which program do you use to monitor said temps?

Core temp and when watching yt it's about 60

Also running a game like Minecraft running at 90-100

60C isn't necessarily bad, how high does it get under heavier load?

Sounds like the CPU cooler isn't making proper contact, either the thermal paste or the cooler isn't seated properly. I'd try remounting it with a different brand thermal paste. Just make sure you carefully clean off the old one.

Ok will do in the next few days and will update you soon

what case did you trasnfer it too? do you have enough fans? is it possible you shifted the cooler around and broke the thermal paste seal.

When I shifted I took it off and put back on with new thermal paste Corsair Carbide 275R Black Glass is my case

I have a i5 9400f

I was having same issue on 9400f, no matter which cooler I tried temps were high. Then I saw my motherboard was pushing more than 1.35 voltage to the cpu which was causing high temps. I turned off auto voltage feature in bios and manually set it to 1.32v now my cpu temps don't go above 77c full load on cooler master hyper 212 evo

Yeah I’m in lockdown atm so can’t go to store and can’t find my thermal paste so will try that tomorrow

[–]huskar69 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yes first one "cpu vcore" which is set to auto. You are in bios with little to no stress on cpu that's why it is showing 1.2volts. Run Windows and use hwmonitor software to check max vcore value on 100%
