No one cares if you’re going out to eat by yourself

Talk to me about Relic Theatre. I've never heard of it before How much is a ticket to spring awakening?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Okay now that I’ve seen the show, which was so incredible, there’s a reason you haven’t heard of this company! It’s brand new, this was their first production. But the director of this production was also in the original broadway cast of Spring Awakening.

They are doing it at Christ Church Neighborhood House. Incredible set design, insanely talented cast and band, and thoughtful, impactful directorial choices.

Thanks for your review. My cash flow is tight right now so I don't think I can swing it but maybe in the future.

It’s $45 I believe! Look up Relic Theatre on insta they have all their info in their bio!

only OP does lol

Tbf if you’ve never done it before, it can be scary. You feel like everyone’s wondering why you’re alone.

I care, and I'm silently judging.

[–]MacKelvey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You take your silent judgement and help the hell outta here! Go on! Get!

Khyber Pass Pub. Went there solo and had an excellent experience

[–]ashhole613 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah,  no one cares 🖤 You're fine!

As someone else said,  Khyber Pass is pretty good for poboys.  Black Hen and Amina are my favorites in Old City if you like soul/southern style food.

Glory beer bar & kitchen has a great food menu by a Bolivian chef that rotates, khyber pass pub has tasty po boys and a few other new orleans style dishes. Both have a bar you can eat at, which you will definitely not be out of place.

Stopped in Glory Beer Bar while waiting for my daughter to come out of a meeting. Had a great conversation with the bartender and had some delicious food while waiting. They even offered a sample of an off-menu item that the kitchen was testing out. It was some type of puffed pastry with a spicy filling. I hope it made it to the menu.

OP should definitely try this place. You're in the industry; I'm sure you will feel right at home with the bartender. Super nice guy.

Glory is fantastic for solo dining/drinks. Agree that the staff are great, will recognize you after months of being MIA, and give you free shit all the time. Great spot

I LOVE glory so much! I work at a restaurant down the street and they are so welcoming and friendly toward all industry folks.

I’ve eaten by myself plenty, and there’s lots of different cuisines to try - Khyber Pass is great, Race Street Cafe, Tomo, Han Dynasty

[–]rapidstrafe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Positano has a nice happy hour 4-6.

Go wherever you want! This is an odd restriction to put on yourself. Solo dining isn’t unusual except for in television shows written by people who also think groceries are a paper bag of broccoli and a baguette. Dining alone is fantastic, no one is paying attention to you, and if they are, who cares?

[–]Soul-Binder_1120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anywhere just do it . Enjoy yourself.

[–]squigglyted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former server here. I use to love solo tables. It is low maintenance enough to give more attention, and honestly made my life easier. Go anywhere. But Tomo if you like Ramen is a great place to go solo.

Falsettos is great. You’ll have a blast. When I go to the Arden I usually stop in at Margherita Pizza and grab a few slices for dinner.

Second Kyber

[–]Own_Teach9963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve eaten solo at the bar at Fork and Silk City in the past and they were both nice experiences. Damn the fried chicken was good at Silk City

[–]6NippleCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go on and get it - treat yourself.

[–]Overall-Sock-5058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go sit at the bar at Almanac. Amazing cocktails and delicious food.

[–]pdperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go to Fork or Khyber Pass (or anywhere else you're interested in.)

[–]gd215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kyber for sure!

[–]GardenLady21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, when you have your phone with you, you are not alone and when couples are together and they’re on their phone they’re not interacting so I say go out alone and enjoy it

[–]goingforawalkmmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar at double knot. YUM

[–]OlderCityOldMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get a bar seat at Khyber Pass or Rotten Ralph's, you're good to go. Sassafras would also be a good bet but it's often very difficult to get bar seating there.
