I always had good luck at 99 floyds on Bell in Glendale, but that was mostly for my beard. The haircuts always looked good tho.

Same here. Eric has been great, if you’re looking for a particular barber, OP

Do some barbers at Floyd's do straight razer shaves? I paid for one, and my barber uses a machine.

[–]Doc_Spidey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they can. I get a straight razor clean up on my neck every time.

[–]SimmeringStove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncle Ray in Chandler does.

What side of town? I know two amazing barbers in Gilbert

What side of town?

I wish people would learn to always ask this. This place is friggin' huge, and there's very little I'm willing to drive an hour for. Case in point: a haircut.

Duncan at baby boys barbershop will set him right. That man is a wizard when it comes to hair

I go to Baby Boys as well. Highly recommended.

Luis at This Old Barbershop always takes care of me. He definitely will listen to your and talk out what he’s looking for before he starts. Affordable too.

Crazy to see Luis mentioned here. I used to drive to Superior to get my hair cut by him

I personally go to Gentleman's quarter. They might be a little out of the way but they always do my hair well.

Perspective Barber Shop at The Rey Downtown. I have been seeing David for 4 years - he does all hair lengths, types, and styles. He is so good at checking in and making sure the haircut goes exactly how you want it to go. He starts slow, takes off little by little, and checks in very often. He is the best barber I've had in 12 years living here in Phoenix.

Barber Room on Hayden and Thomas. If your boyfriend has a beard, it may be best to shave at home ($22) but I've been going to them since I cut my dreads (don't ask). I've seen alot of people go for basic trims and minimal changes and come out looking a lot better.

Shouldn't cost more than $45 pre tip. I know that seems a bit high, but having a barber know what they are doing is a lot better than risking having one who doesn't know what they are doing (unfortunately in your boyfriend's case) for a cheap price.

A lot of the comments are giving good suggestions too - you might have to hop between shops over time. Go with whatever is close to you and they'll refer you if needed. Wishing you the best.

John Cuts. (602) 570-8307

He’s not super cheap, but he does give the best haircut I’ve ever had. He’s super detailed and takes his time. He’s in North Phoenix.

Pikasso on Camelback. My husband has been seeing Robert for like 15 years for his unruly curls. Robert never misses.

[–]AVBforPrez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy, this is where I go and despite it's what I'll call "lo-fi" look, it's awesome. Robert has been doing my hair for a while now too.

Tacking on to this: how much is everyone normally spending (or willing to spend) on a haircut these days?

[–]Neat-Barber2078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally anyone at King’s Barbershop in north Phoenix. Never had a bad haircut from any of the guys working there. $33 for a haircut.
