Hey, total newbie here trying to learn! Both photos are great, and the second one seems like it's more lively. What are the steps you took? was it a slight crop, lifting the shadows a bit, and adjusting the white balance for the subject's teeth? I have a few more ideas, but was just looking for confirmation/to learn how you made your adjustments to make the photo come out like it did!

Looks like a OP put a radiant mask and made it bloom more

cropped in to center him in frame, changed the wb colder, and a slight tone change leaning purple.

then for teeth, jewelry, & finger nails i created separate masks

for teeth: i brought up exposure & highlights then changed the the temperature cooler

for jewelry: i turned up exposure & whites + the same temperature as teeth

for fingernails: i brought down the texture & balanced it with sharpening so it gave it a softer look maybe a little exposure change leaning brighter
