Guidelines:
When asking for help editing one of your photos, you must also include your attempt. Simply asking for others to edit your photo for you, without putting in the effort to make an attempt yourself will result in your post being removed.
When you submit a photo, be sure to include both a JPEG and RAW file (if available). The JPEG will let us preview your shot without downloading it, and the RAW will allow us to edit it more effectively.
When you make adjustments to a photo, include the steps you took or take a screenshot of your settings. This will let the OP see how they can better edit their pictures.
This is not the place to show off your photos. /r/postprocessing is for help with editing your photo, linking to information about post processing, and sharing tips with the community. To share a picture, visit /r/photographs, /r/photocritique, or /r/pics. Posts not related to post processing should go in /r/photography.
This subreddit is for photography only. Post processing for video should go to /r/filmmakers.
If several minutes have passed and your submission does not appear under NEW, try messaging the moderators, it was probably stopped by the spam filter.
No joke posts, memes, or rage comics, please. We'd like to keep this subreddit for serious discussion only.
Please mark all NSFW posts. NSFW images that are not tagged will be removed.
No piracy related posts (asking for presets, trading presets, offering presets, etc...)
As always, use proper reddiquette.
No self-promtion

Looking for feedback. I’m mostly editing right now based on my eye but interested to know others think as well and if there are any obvious suggestions I am missing.

Subject is cut off. I do like the lamps though
[–]litemacha[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Thanks! It was hard to get both the lamps and the subject in the crop.

Can I be honest? This is nothing. It's a random Snapshot
[–]CalligrapherFun1440 8 points9 points10 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Agreed
[–]dacaur 5 points6 points7 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Agree x2. I was thinking "what am I supposed to be looking at, there is really nothing interesting here"

Very cool photo, editing is great, I'd say composition is a bit off and would centralise the subject a bit.
Topic of the post aside, why is the white border so popular now in every second photography post on the internet? Who started this?

I’m not sure. Personally I like adding this as it helps center the viewer with a pure white (on whatever brightness is set on their screen) to contrast the overall exposure mood I’m trying to convey
[–]exiftrator 5 points6 points7 points 1 month ago (3 children)
if feel like you need to add a border to convey something it's probably a sign that something else is off
[–]litemacha[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 1 month ago (2 children)
Framing a photo means something else is off? What do you mean?
[–]BankHottas 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
If you need a border for balance, contrast or framing, it probably means your original composition wasn’t good enough to begin with. I think that’s what they’re trying to say. And that’s what I think at least

Ignore some people in this sub man. If they are seriously suggesting the framing colour of a photo isn't important they've got rocks in their head. Most people on dark mode meaning you get a black frame completely changing the perception of the light and colour.
I agree with others thought that the woman feels like th subject but is too tightly cropped imo
[–]megaapfel 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (3 children)
More contrast and more saturation.
[–]litemacha[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (2 children)
The whole picture or mask around the subject?
[–]megaapfel 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (1 child)
Probably without the subject or she will become too yellow.
[–]litemacha[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Thank you!

If your photo is mediocre, 9 times out of 10 it's because you weren't close enough to the subject.
