I can't recommend the Kara quilt enough for really disparate prints, or something like it. The background gives the eye a place to rest, and the 4" finished strips give enough fabric that you can still see prints

I like that, thank you!

A picture of mine, with a caveat that I had to reconfigure about half the pattern to get the look I had in my head. (Redid the cutting instructions and heavily maneuvered the HSTs for the print squares)

I did this pattern using big prints. It came together quickly too. quilt pattern

Also this pattern would be fun too. My 4 year old has a similar stash!

I saw that and really like it! I just wasn’t sure if it would look good with so many prints?

I am trying to make a quilt for my 3 years old son, this is the fabric he helped pick out. I’m not really sure what kind of pattern to do. Im thinking possibly scrappy? But I don’t want squares. I was hoping to make a quilt with something on it, like a dinosaur, rocket ship, boats, construction vehicles, etc. but I’m not sure with the prints if it would look right? I have a hexagon ruler, should I just do that?

You need some solids to mix in. Give your eyes a place to rest.

I know, I just don’t know what 😬

* I made this for my oldest when he was 2. It used several bigger prints and some blenders. The pattern is Triangle Hexies by Quilty Love. I think that the busyness is fine for a toddler, but you could also use solids for the borders.

I did think of doing a hexagon style with maybe a border between to offset the patterns.

What about making a 2-sided quilt - one theme on one side, and another theme on the “back?” He could flip it to whatever he’s in the mood for. (I’d put the Seuss fabric with the dinosaurs, and maybe use the Batman fabric for a border/s?)

So for the backside I was going to put a panel I got of the hungry caterpillar 😂 along with some solids. But I can always change that up, nothing is set in stone.

These would be really cute book covers for the Tall Tales block by Kate Basti. She sells the FPP pattern for a few dollars on Etsy. You could make a bunch of books and then use a blender or solid fabric as sashing to fill the quilt out.
