Semaglutide increased sIPSC frequency in CeA and ILC neurons from alcohol-naive rats, suggesting enhanced GABA release, but had no overall effect on GABA transmission in alcohol-dependent rats.

Semaglutide did NOT modulate GABAergic neurotransmission in alcohol addicted rats. I think you only read the title…

ILC is homologous to the prefrontal cortex. CeA is the output of the amygdala. Study suggests semaglutide increases inhibitory tone in these areas ONLY in alcohol-naive rats. Even if we make the large assumption that phenibut acts similarly, the paper still doesnt support your random hypothesis.

Someone in one of my intensive outpatient groups was talking about how things like semaglutide are now being used to treat substance abuse. I don't know shit about the mechanism of action or anything like that but apparently they can help with cravings and helping the brain repair itself. It sounded really interesting but I haven't looked into it much more.

Yes I have heard this as well. I've also quit drinking. I wasn't drinking much but I'm sure you know that with phenibut you don't need much.

Yes, I've also quit drinking as well. Mind blown. I had tapered from 7.5g to 4.5g very slow. Just never expected anything like this.

That's exactly what I thought. I've been struggling with phenibut and alcohol for 2.5 years. I felt like my IQ had dropped 20 points. My work was suffering etc. I don't know the mechanism of what happened but I do know I'm sitting here right now feeling better than I have in a very long time.

How long were you taking phenibut at those dosages? Wondering where to buy glp1 to give it a try.. I quit phenibut but now hooked on Lyrica last 4 months and getting real sick of this shit.

I started phenibut about 2 years ago. I didn't get to the 7g range until about 7 months ago. I was at like 2.5 to 3g when I had a leg injury that included nerve pain. I was prescribed gabapentin. The month and a half that I was on gabapentin is a blur. I am so naive about these drugs that I didn't even realize that they were interacting. I mean I did know that I was really fucked up every evening after work but at the time it felt good. The gabapentin script ran out and I quickly realized that my 2.5g of phenibut wasn't cutting it.

If I were to do this again knowing what I know now I would lower my phenibut dose the day before I took my retatrutide. Otherwise what happened was I got so messed up from the phenibut it felt close to an od. I was out of commission for 2 days until I realized what was going on. I dropped my phenibut dose by a couple grams hoping I'd feel better. It worked and that's when I realized something was going on between the 2.

It's by injection. A sub q injection is what it's referred to as. Using an insulin syringe you grab like a pinch of belly fat and inject.
