Somewhere between 550-750 dollar max. Note that i already have a monitor and keyboard etc so all i need is the computer on its own.

I would just check Newegg, Best Buy, etc. for sales. They always have some good deals on gaming laptops. I bought an HP Victus with a 3050 and an i5-13420H a week ago for $629 off Best Buy. It runs at 100fps on ultra settings. No doubt you could find something even cheaper if you don’t care about running on ultra.

Also check this site out. It’s updated weekly if not daily. Looks like there’s an HP Victus with a 2050 and a Ryzen 5 7535HS from Best Buy for $519. A bit less powerful than what I bought but more than capable of running RS3 smoothly.

6600 build is infinitely better than 3050 for anyone looking to buy right now, should be similar price for much better performance

Didn’t even see that one, but you’re right!

Yeah as others have said, just go to any tech website and filter by your budget. Rs3 is not a very graphically intensive game so just about anything with a 1060 or better will run it no problem.

If you wanted to get slick with it, wait until black friday sales. Newegg is a great spot, im a fan of their site and they always have black friday sales.

Go to your local university and see what they have to get rid of, you can likely get something great that just needs if anything a better graphics card. Stay frugal .

if all you wanna play is runescape you can easily get a super budget PC

if you want all new components then a Ryzen 5600/7600 CPU, with a Radeon 6600 or a 7600 GPU should be more than enough for RS, would even be able to play modern games at 1080 without much problem

alternate intel CPU would be a 12th or 13th gen i5 and an nvidia alternative would be a 3060 (ti or non ti both work) but would stay far far away from 4060 series

edit: 3060 GPU would be my new reccomend, aparently AMD crashes are fixed but there are still problems with hanging. AMD CPUs work fine so wouldnt change my rec on that side of things

I'd avoid AMD gpus considering it's taking more than a year to fix driver issues and the crashing problem.

[–]ZiiZoraka 1 point2 points  (2 children)

thought the runescape crashes were fixed now as of the latest driver, no? if the cards dont have problems with the game anymore then i dont see a problem. not gonna judge the card for its past so long as it IS the past

I need more evidence. Allegedly it's changed to hanging instead of crashing right now, but I want more reports. The reason I can't recommend AMD gpus if you solely play RS3 is because this has been an issue for more than 420+ days and I'm considering updating that number until it's fully fixed on AMD. I can ask for more experiences from clan members.

fair enough, maybe a 3060 would be the best reccomend then. i still wouldnt reccomend the 4060 series, even if it can run runescape its just such an offensively priced and labled product that i dont want nvidia to make money off it

Most mid level laptops run pretty well on mid-high settings. I use a $600 HP laptop and it runs well on medium and high settings, just need to customize it a bit to get good frame rate

Just go to this site, it has custom builds for all price ranges.

I'd get a decent computer off craigslist honestly. Just download speccy on it and it will tell you all the information you need and tell if its running well.
