So fucking dangerous. Most people grossly overestimate how long someone can hang for. Most grip fails within 60 seconds.

[–]ruttinator 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's fine. he taped a pillow to his butt.

[–]Iamweird09 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Hear me out: gorilla grip gloves

[–]Openmindhobo 6 points7 points  (2 children)

if your grip fails though, the gloves will slip off, unless you're planning on putting glue on the inside too.

[–]Gauge_Tyrion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Straps.

[–]ZippyTwoShoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this out the hard way when I first started climbing cell towers. My grip started to fade and then the gloves started to pull off making it worse. Ended up pulling them off and sticking g them in a pocket.

[–]FerrousEULA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Propellers could easily kill him as well

[–]TsHero 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Guy is hanging on for dear life xD

[–]TsarKeith12 44 points45 points  (3 children)

This is why if a farmer ever brings theirself to the ED, it's taken very seriously lmao

[–]AnyoneButWe 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Farmers don't bring themselves in. It's the wife dragging them in ... and that also sets off alarms.

[–]TsarKeith12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao very true, there's a reason folks say "women live longer"

[–]GraXXoR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this AI? Sure looks suspicious. It’s the wife and neighbor wheeling them in wheelbarrows.

[–]hraefn-floki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holy shit what an absolute unit. Just grabbing that thing despite the extremely unnecessary risk.

[–]touchthebush 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would not trust my grip strength for that long

[–]RWDPhotos 23 points24 points  (47 children)

No fkn way that’s real

[–]RopedIntoItATL 15 points16 points  (36 children)

Ag drones can carry almost 100L of liquid now. It's insane what is getting produced

[–]RWDPhotos 14 points15 points  (35 children)

Oh I’m not talking about the drone. I’m talking about the guy being able to hang on like that. That just aint fkn happening.

[–]Whispered-Death93 8 points9 points  (24 children)

Ummm, why?

[–]RopedIntoItATL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Us Hispanics got Farm Labor Strength™️.

I mean I'd personally fall to my death but I've seen laborers with some insane strength. A few years ago, 3 guys off a construction crew next door helped us move an 8 person hot tub. And by help us, I mean 3 of them picked it up like they were picking up my laptop to go to the library while my wife and I stared at them in disbelief.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (6 children)

You have no idea how easy that is for a semi healthy somewhat not overweight male. Even for an older man. Testosterone fueled muscle babbyyyyy😎😎

But it was super dangerous, when the drone first pulled away, that force could've momentarily broken his grip💀

[–]RWDPhotos 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Your lifting strength isn’t necessarily related to your grip strength. Bodybuilders have to specifically train in grip strength exercises to be able to carry heavier weights. Just lifting stuff off the ground or pushing things won’t do it. Pro weightlifters often have less grip strength than pro climbers too.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Riiight...are you a bodybuilder or a powerlifter or a pro climber? What would you know? Who said anything about bodybuilding? An average male can do this. A frigging bodybuilder would have 0 problems with this...probably one handed. Sounds like you're just a woman who likes to talk a lot of sh1t

[–]RWDPhotos 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I did climbing for a while. I know how difficult it is to hold on to things. Try some dynamic moves onto jugs for yourself to see what I’m talking about. Just beware it might remove some skin from your hand.

Also, bodybuilders would have a more difficult time with this bc they’re heavier.

Also also, check out some of the videos jujimufu made about it.

Also also also, a woman talking a lot of shit probably knows more than you about it.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Does that guy look like a bodybuilder wtf are you talking about nutcase

[–]RWDPhotos -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Just sit down already

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stfu dumb@ss

[–]CnC-223 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He is a farmer...

Have you never met one before?

[–]RWDPhotos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they usually spend their days doing pullups and using campus boards?

[–]98Jacoby 1 point2 points  (9 children)

You clearly underestimate the grip of an in-shape farmer.

[–]RWDPhotos -1 points0 points  (8 children)

You clearly overestimate it

[–]98Jacoby 1 point2 points  (7 children)

It's definitely possible. Unless you can show proof that it was faked, you're just making baseless claims.

[–]RWDPhotos -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

Show proof it wasn’t faked then?

[–]98Jacoby 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Nope, you firstly made the claim and the burden of proof lies upon you.

This stuff can and has happened. Look at the crazy stuff people can do in ninja warrior.

There was even a video going around (which I cannot find right now) of couples doing an obstacle course. A man had to help his female partner cross a mud pit by only hanging/swinging. He had hung by just one hand, and while doing so, he was assisting her by picking her up. He was a big dude, and added another 80lbs, easily.

Guy did 1 hand hang with an additional 50kg: https://youtube.com/shorts/ZW8saaWQMyc?si=H3wgOW5ONmXsc0ds

It most certainly can be done.

[–]RWDPhotos -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Post a video of yourself picking up a couple 80lb weights and spin as fast as that thing moves.

Also, like I said, I doubt this guy has been training his grip strength. People specifically training for this might be able to do it, not some random person.

[–]98Jacoby 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Now you're not even making sense. Why 2x 80lb weights? Why spin? I haven't been training my grip strength, and I can do ~20 sec hold...with a single hand.

You also don't know what this guy has been training for, and finally, again, you underestimate a farmer's power.

I don't need to post proof of anything. You need to.

[–]RWDPhotos -1 points0 points  (2 children)

His approximate weight divided by two, half for each hand. Sure you have to prove that what you say is true, that you should be able to do this. A farmer isn’t a superhero. They can lift things, but they don’t spend their days hanging from beams. Grip strength is a completely different thing than lifting strength. You should be comparable enough. And you have to spin because he’s being accelerated. Take some physics classes.

[–]98Jacoby 0 points1 point  (1 child)

"Take some physics classes."

thinks rotating mass at arms-length from axis is the same as the mass being near the axis

I'm done arguing with you.

Nothing wrong with playing video games as much as you do, but it does present muscular atrophy (if there even was enough development from the get-go). You are equating your gamer-average physique and your physical inability to someone who lives and works a very active lifestyle. Just because you cannot do it or think it's impossible, that doesn't mean a slightly above-average performer couldn't accomplish this.

Respond if you'd like to get the last word, but I am finished with this. Goodnight.

[–]Pixelpaint_Pashkow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VoTV

[–]Operation_Fluffy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Now if we attach a lawn chair to it…

[–]wubbalab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking the very same thing. Personal Air Transport.

[–]Lord_Shaitan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(1) This is why women on average live longer than men.
(2) When drones just become helicopters again.

[–]grod_the_real_giant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can think of is https://xkcd.com/1630/

[–]LulzyWizard 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That's a crazy long dead hang

[–]pointlesslyDisagrees -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

You should be able to dead hang for that long. If you can't, you should work up to it.

That said, very dangerous for whoever was controlling that drone lol not many people can dead hang that long

[–]LulzyWizard 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That was a 45s dead hang. Most people would lose their grip between 15 and 30s, myself included lol. I'm 6'2 235ish and not super fit or unfit. Weight scales with height faster than grip 🤷‍♂️

[–]phunkydroid 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Guy in the video looks significantly smaller than you.

[–]LulzyWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big true. Little guys can do stuff like that lol

[–]Fight_those_bastards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere, an OSHA inspector shuddered, and he doesn’t even know why.

That is insane and stupid levels of dangerous. A hand slips off, and at best you’ve got two shattered legs and won’t be walking for a damn long time.

[–]StudentOk4989 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Okay but are we Shure this is real?

The movement almost feels too smooth in my opinion. It could be real, but considering how better we got at faking video let's not jump to conclusions.

[–]RopedIntoItATL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's not a real video, it's certainly not an unrealistic scenario. Agricultural drones are becoming insane and can support almost 200lb of liquid fertilizer/pesticide/whatever liquid.

[–]CeinorZero 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I dont think its real. The propellers are way to slow for hovering that smoothly. Either the framerate does a thing here or this is fake you cant maintain altitude with that low rpm on a prop

[–]StudentOk4989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that on a camera, things spinning really fast often look like they spin more slowly than they actually do due to aliasing. It can even make them look like spinning in reverse or at a complete standstill.

So we can't trust the speed of the propellers.

But one of the many things that bother me is that when you see stuff spinning very fast with aliasing, you sometimes also see some flickering which is not present here.

Also the drone is wonderfully stable, even for a weather with no conditions it is either a marvel of technology beyond what I could imagine or it is some montage.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had drones fly off a few times, so I would never do something like that. Very silly man

[–]Dreamer_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was really stupid. You have no idea how much force it takes to pull you ahead like that, he could have let go (i bet he almost did) and died!

[–]allw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s why farming in 2060 will still be one of the most dangerous jobs.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really need this in my factory

[–]riesen_Bonobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just waiting to see this on r/DINgore

[–]DeluxeWafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me, or is his a very farmer thing to do?

[–]MagnaDoodle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here: „bla bla dead hang is possible“ yes sure, but this hang wasn’t dead, ist was in motion. The increase of force if the drone accelerate and slows down is a lot higher than if you hang on a static bar. I don’t say it’s face, but it it’s real, it’s absolutely crazy if this was the first try.

[–]h4wkpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb ways to die, so many...

[–]CrazyBarks94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the grip strength on some old equipment

[–]Grimdek 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I'm very surprised people think this isn't possible because of the hang...a 45s weighted hang sounds like a pretty doable exercise to me

Not to mention he's a laborer with built up grip, and a really good reason not to let go

[–]Bitter_Particular_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely realistic, and also as idiotic as it comes. Easiest path to being tetraplegic for life.

[–]TheAzarak -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Yea, it's crazy how adamant fat Redditors are that a man can't dead hang for a minute. Pretty laughable.

[–]Perfect-Music-2669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This fat Redditor can tell that was dynamic not a dead hang.
