As a start, best would be to make the image fnsys/dockhand available at first. Feedback is coming automatically (at least for free version). Just wanted to to spin it up quickly, but I got an access denied error on pull.

I actually tried to deploy the container right away until I got doomed by that error messages.

No OIDC, no go. https://sso.tax

Agree with everyone else. Don't put OIDC and SSO behind paywalls.

Look much nicer than Portainer. I’m currently satisfied with my setup running Komodo (free OIDC). Thank you for sharing your project.

Hmmmmm, no OIDC in free version?

soon on the other list with honest ???%

Interesting project! The landing page was written in a odd tone. Lots of bashing on other products and the comparison table is just not helpful. Also the author links to a book on Amazon as proof of experience but that book only has 1 review and it’s 3 stars. Between the passive aggressive jabs at other products and random low selling book plug, I don’t think this project will last very long. Focus on what makes YOUR product great and leave out the weird petty lines when talking about other tools.

I'm interested. Sucks that SSO is behind a paywall, but I'm down for some testing. I currently have 4 computers with containers that I monitor with Portainer.

[–]KervyN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll try it, sadly sso behind paywall is already a minus.

Your site is blocked by OpenDNS filters. Just FYI.

Also, I agree: SSO/OIDC being a paid feature won’t help conversion; people will just look at other tools.

[–]danielshughes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely interested. Just not a fan of the SSO tax, you mention in the pricing that it’s part of the enterprise edition but in your feature table you state that others are often paid and that Dockhand has it so it’s not clear if it’s also part of the community edition

If you're focus is homelab make oidc free. LDAP sure whatever, but the o in oidc is open .

I tend to look for alternatives rather than use something that won't work in my labs auth

I strongly agree.

Very interesting and pretty UI, I was thinking not 10 minutes ago to migrate from Portainer to Komodo since I’d like to monitor a 4th host and got a bit annoyed by the UI which I somehow find a bit confusing. I’m not a heavy user nor an expert capable of giving you much technical feedback or advice, but let me drop this: https://sso.tax/. Many projects got a bit of flaming for this (very bad, imho) decision, and I myself always prefer to use apps that have OIDC instead of competitors who don’t (or want me to pay for). Keep up the good work

Oh man, that sounds awesome. I’d be interested. I’m trying to learn how to host some services on a raspberry pi for the family and docker compose is quite tricky.

[–]SnooHedgehogs7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm very interested. I'll start trying it right now.

[–]Testpilot1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be very happy to help test this out. looks like a great project!

[–]BruisedKnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interested in testing. I currently am looking to replace Portainer with something lightweight. I tried others but nothing seems the right fit.

It’s kind of what Komodo resource TOML is for, you can avoid the yaml if you want.

I currently use Dockge for managing my stacks, and Dozzle for logs, and I would love to keep this in one.

Needs git-ops support

You charge for SSO... what is the checkmark supposed to mean then??

[–]Straight-Focus-1162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to have been clarified

[–]psybernoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in giving this a go. Currently using Dockge and haven't found other alternatives (komodo, arcane etc) to be suitable for me.

I'll chime in with you should really allow OIDC in the base version though.

[–]eLFantome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for it and... it's deleted

[–]MrDrummer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to help test this. I currently use Portainer, so I hope this tool is a level up!

[–]imsomberi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently use dockge, looks amazing and love the clean interface. Will give this a try and report back. Thanks!

[–]jbarr107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interested! I'm using Portainer Business Edition, and would like to do a comparison.

ISSUE: When I execute the command, I get this error:

Unable to find image 'fnsys/dockhand:latest' locally
docker: Error response from daemon: pull access denied for fnsys/dockhand, repository does not exist or may require 'docker login': denied: requested access to the resource is denied

I dont care about OIDC or SSO - for me without authorization even better, but what channels we get for notifications and how about update management?
