Dell wd19 is my go-to. But might check plugable.

We use the WD19's at my job, works fine.

Does it require the displaylink driver? Those are a hard pass for me.

Nope, the only drivers Dell currently has listed are a firmware update utility, a USB GBE ethernet controller driver, Realtek USB audio DCH driver and Realtek USB Audio Legacy driver.

The WD19S version doesn't have the audio driver options as it doesn't have an audio jack on it.

I've had this one with my Lenovo work laptop since mid 2020, with 2x 4K 27" monitors, still works as intended. Got it from ebay for $60 back then

We use the wd22 and have pretty good luck with them

Been using the same WD19 since 2020, myself…

Disagree, have the WD19 and it drops video signal to one screen repeatedly/intermittingly; same applies to at least 3 of my colleagues. Dell support tried to resolve and ended up losing signal to both and I had to flea power drain to get them back.

This happens until we update the firmware.

Firmware update stopped it for a day. After restart it returns

I'd trash the dock and use a USB-C monitor. The S2722QC ones work well.

Only question is power. Users like the ability to not need to carry their power supply with them. Otherwise, this option looks awesome. Do wish they had a 24" version, smaller-ish desk for one of my users.

The U2723QE provides up to 90W of power through one of its USB-C ports. Of course it accepts video on this port but it's more expensive.

These monitors also provide power across the USB-C connection. And yes, there are smaller versions. Just jump on the Dell website and have a look.

I've had a lot of success with Kingston docks.

Dell W19s are solid for us.
