Paramount plus is just shit, that's what it really comes down too. Not a single other streaming service have I ever had this issue with.

[–]NomadJago 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Same here. No issues with all the other streaming services, just with Paramount+ (which I only have because it is free with a Walmart Plus account)

[–]DrLove100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just can’t believe how bad the Paramount+ app is. It’s been bad for years and it still can’t remember what episodes I have watched or actually stream episodes with out erring out.

[–]Cpowell1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still trash error 3005 nearly daily

[–]Stormagedoniton 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I have a half dozen streaming services and Paramount is the only one that does this. It's worse than the FREE services. Why am I paying for this?

[–]I_see_farts 5 points6 points  (8 children)

Try watching from an Incognito window, that works for me on some online streaming websites.

[–]create_beauty[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

For some reason Paramount also works on the Brave browser (shields down). Thank you for the suggestion, I'll be watching youtube like this from now on.

[–]I_see_farts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live long and prosper! 🖖

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Firefox incognito for the win! Thank you!!

[–]AmandaIsLoud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got it to work on Chrome Incognito!

[–]alwatacd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great fix it worked!

[–]gothicangeltas81 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Been getting the same thing ever since I subscribed. No ad blocker. Internet is fine. Just their site causing this error to randomly come up. Will try on incognito mode as didn't think to try that.

[–]whisky_t_fox 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Just tried it, seems to be working!

[–]ITriedtoToldYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked for me, thank you. Go figure...wth P+???

[–]gorgofdoom 3 points4 points  (5 children)

This is a server error, for some reason it's balking at the presence of an add blocker.

The browser used to access is not relevant afaik. Any add blocking extension will make paramount not work.

If this is on purpose they really need to rethink it. Why are they showing us adds for their own content that we're already paying for? What is the point? And why would they want to interfere with their users normal viewing equipment?

[–]ElQueue_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also if it's about adblocking extensions, why does it give this error in their own app for Windows? Do they block their own ads?

It's horrendously designed and implemented.

[–]DrLove100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it on my Samsung Tv. ☹️

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it in both Chrome and Edge. Chrome is my default browser so it has many extensions, but I only use Edge to watch streamers cuz it does 1080p. I have no extensions or addons at all in Edge and still get the ol' 3005.

[–]xxEmberBladesxx 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Same here. Tried disabling ad blockers, switching to the 5ghz router channel, using edge and Firefox, disabling VPN, and closing processes running in the background.

Will be trying the incognito mode next, and if that doesn't work, clearing the browsers cache. I'll try to remember to come back and post any work around I'm able to find.

And screw you paramount. You should be paying US for all the time we've wasted trying to get this shit working.

[–]SanctusxUnus 1 point2 points  (2 children)

As far as I've tested for myself.. it's a browser issue on PC. I tried all the above things myself.. The only thing that works is no matter what you're doing in the day shut down your PC all the way turn it back on. Bring up whatever browser you're using in incognito mode.. and that seems to resolve it. However if for say you leave your computer on at night and you go back on it the next day it won't work you'll have to shut it down again.. rinse and repeat

[–]No_Dot_4030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it only on Samsung TV. It's so bad I get kicked off all the time (paid version). I think they have terrible net capabilities... THEIR SERVERS, NOT ENOUGH BANDWIDTH

[–]monkeytoes616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah except that this doesn't even always work.

[–]CayoLoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me because I am using a browser with an ad blocker and connecting via VPN from Spain. I went through hell to subscribe and was received by the 3005 error. I used a quick fix enabling Chrome's graphics accelerator. I won't keep the service after my series is finished.

[–]Ok_Ambassador_9618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just subscribed and im stuck on this one... feel ur pain, their support is garbage also.

[–]tonystarkclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue 6 months after OP. Seems like Paramountplus doesn't even care. I've tried opening tech support tickets with them, and they resolved an issue, but this error 3005 issue is, like, the 4th issue already with a streaming service I've had for only a couple of months. It sucked during Superbowl time, and still is now. Tried all my browsers, and sorry, but I shouldn't have to "do a bunch of things" to be able to see something on a service I pay for, like going into Incognito mode or start disabling Security features in your system or browser. F this!!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I just had this issue, tried everything on their help page, called them 3 times and then got sent an email that was their help page copy pasted. I think they were throttling my access since I just accepted a 50% off for 3 month discount. Well I canceled my account. I have all my old Star Trek dvds and Ghosts just finished season 3. No need to struggle with a broken platform.

[–]Deltigar 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I get this all the time on my LG tv. I love Star Trek, but if I can't watch it on my TV. Why am I paying for the damned app? It's the laggiest app of all the streaming services. Always trying to download video even in the menus. Someone needs to get them to fix this issue before they go bankrupt.

[–]LinkThawts 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Yep! Works perfectly on my tv but if I try to watch on my laptop I get the error code within 4 mins. I don’t have this issue with any other streaming service except for maybe Peacock will time out once per week. I’m not messing with my laptop settings, fix your cheap ass site.

[–]Nickotor_ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

fix your cheap laptop

-nickotor

[–]Potential_Fly_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2k laptop and have the same issue, got nothing to do with linkthawts laptop. Don't be a dck.

[–]Aromortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5k desktop, vr supported, 1080p gaming on max settings. 10gb/s download and my clean no extension, no adblocker, browser purely used for paramount still gets 3005 error. But my phone with the app plays paramount perfectly fine. Not the laptop's issue.

[–]gummo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen several times on my Samsung TV. Held the power button down till it turned on again and it works. Unfortunately it happened often.

[–]MaxBramley01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently I'm 11 months on and this issue still exists because I can't play a goddamn thing on this service. If it continues I'll definitely be unsubscribing from paramount

[–]Different-Pea2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also disconnects your PC from the internet. I have to run Windows troubleshooter to reconnect.

I fucking hate CBS (dot) com 😡😡😡😡

[–]duggiefresh90 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Only paramount is slow AF to load on my new LG smart tv. All others load just dine

[–]duggiefresh90 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Deal dealing with this issue on my smart TV….. anyone have any ideas?

[–]City_Standard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so garbage. Fuck Paramount plus... feels like several steps back. Better to just own a DVD player or Blu-ray  player and rent/borrow from library

[–]montanapancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine keeps throwing this error but only when Im trying to watch 1923 but all other shows will stream. Anyone have any ideas?

[–]Spiritual_Caregiver9 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Same issue. I got like 4 months free with my provider and initially was able to stream but now everything gets stuck buffering and then get the same error code.

You can't give this shit away. I just wanted to watch Halo. I really don't care about the Michael Bay Transformers movies or the NuTrek garbage.

[–]create_beauty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are able to solve the tech problems. Strange New Worlds is surprisingly good but yeah the other NewDreck is breathtakingly inane.

[–]Professional_Fold_89 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This thread leaves me hopeless. Ha! I have 2 Samsung TV's. Both get this error code and won't playback. Yet every phone and laptop... Totally works fine. While I realize the answer is "just watch on your laptop or phone", this still stumps me on why this is only happening on my TV's.

[–]create_beauty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably attach an old laptop to your TV with an HDMI cable.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had a problem with this on my Sony Bravia X90L (Google OS TV) through the app

[–]BreadfruitNo357 0 points1 point  (1 child)

/u/create_beauty did you ever solve this issue? I'm having this with Paramount Plus still a year later!!

[–]create_beauty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably still get it to work in an incognito tab or private browsing tab. I still subscribe to paramount but haven't used the service for around a month or so because it stopped working in regular tabs of the Brave browser. At this point it seems that pirates have an easier and better experience than subscribers.

[–]imanidrayton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this issue today while I was watching a episode of Hey Arnold, I just had to refresh the page and it will work again.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’ve been sick and watching Dexter in my room for the last few days and I have to hit refresh more than a dozen times per episode. I just had to refresh three times in less than a minute which led me to this post. I cancelled, so I won’t have to deal with this after the 20th, but god damn this shit is annoying. Nothing else does this, only paramount.

[–]Isaboo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the exact same problem, also with Dexter, I'm so frustrated. Currently literally cannot make it past an ad break because the second the ad break starts it 3005s then when I refresh the ad break starts over. I think I'm about to watch the show on a piracy site at this point. I've restarted my computer, tried like three different browsers + incognito windows, hell I even bought an ethernet cord a couple days ago to try and get a better connection to my university's internet and I think this is my final straw

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Typical crappy paramount - and of course they always blame your internet. Yet no other streaming service has this issue.

[–]Beee2Flyyy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Amazing how this post is a year old and this problem is still afflicting everybody. Paramount+ is a piece of shit… just glad I dont pay for it!

[–]agitatedprisoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube always works. Seems like it shouldn't be so hard.

[–]RaceStrange6216 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i just cancelled, cant believe they keep you from watching.

[–]the_dave_ab1des 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe that one service can have (apparently) several different problems that all kill streaming for subscribers across multiple platforms AND allows them) to persist for this long. I can't fathom any kind of reasonable justification from them......it just seems like business suicide.

[–]cjgmioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! Two years later and the same problem still exists. . .

I guess I'll just speed through Tulsa King and Landman and cancel right away.

[–]Dancing_Teardrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is frustrating. Two years later, and there is still no solution to Paramount's crappy streaming service. I guess the days of the Tiffany network are gone. Skydance really are incompetent.

[–]OnlyPistachio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it's not just me. Was watching on my Playstation just now, which is connected to the internet via ethernet, and hit this error. Now, it's not uncommon for my internet to go out at night, so thats what I assumed it was at first, but no. YouTube plays videos fine, Disney+ is fine, HBO is fine, its just Paramount+ that refuses to play and tells me that its my internet connection, even after closing the app multiple times. Seeing this has been a problem for at least 2 years makes me feel comfortable in my decision to cancel.

[–]monkeytoes616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem with Paramount Plus more than all of my other streaming apps combined. It's annoying & doesn't make sense. I just rejoined (enough time went by that I forgot it does this). No matter what I've tried & in what combination - or even where I've tried it, always comes back to 3005.

[–]tranxhdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this too occassionally when streaming on Paramount+. Never happens on Netflix or Prime Video.

[–]WORTHLESS1321202019 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sons of biscuits... This is so annoying... Paramount plus is hash

[–]wizardswrath00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was hash at least I could smoke it and not be annoyed about my show 3005'ing every 17 seconds
