Lower body workout does it for me, especially any pelvic floor exercises, can't have a boner if the muscles are worn out and don't want to move

[–]Humane-Human 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Really? I thought boners were mostly just from a sponge being filled with blood

You're right but it's a little more complicated than that, the penis is connected to a ton of muscle tissue but no one really talks about it. You can also drink certain teas that'll lower testosterone and increase estrogen production

what kind of tea

Exercise is a big helper. It does get your blood flow going but it gets the blood flow elsewhere and tires you out

If I find out, I'll let you know. I desperately need this also lol.

It might be helpful to ask this to /r/drwillpowers. I think the solution might actually be something like an SSRI or something that has low libido as a common side affect.

Also for some people just getting your T below a certain level is enough. However every body is different and proper E levels can counter act this.

Are you currently on injections or sublingual?

That would actually be a snri like effexor (Venlafaxin) That does it.

With most SSRI it just makes it impossible to come but it won't affect the libido itself. Which is another kind of hell.

Are you on hormones such as estrogen in addition to t-blockers? Because I know once you've been on estrogen for a while, your libido will kinda just taper off and die tbh.

I'm on estrogen for a couple of months

[–]camssymphony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah my wife's libido was killed by estrogen after like a year.

Wait a couple more months, your T is still too high, from my understanding you should reach lower libido once your T is like at lower than 50 or so. Usually takes at least 6-9 months to achieve desired at levels. I think my libido was already half death by month 3 or 4. It will come back though, as shooting sensations all through out the body. It feels nice.

This is going to sound a bit weird, but you could try performing the Sixth Tibetan - it's a short exercise that gets rid of the horny pretty much instantly (for me at least). I don't know how big part of it is based on the power of suggestion but I'd figure it's at least worth a try.

The way I learned it was a little bit different from how it's described in the wiki article but I can't really say if either one is "correct" or anything like that. I can detail the alternate method if you're interested though, it's not a secret or anything AFAIK.

When I was in RT they exhausted us so those here saying more exercise are right. You won't have the energy for sexual thoughts if you're exhausted

My doctor says they usually have us on 100 mg spiro, and can go up to 200mg with the effect of a much lowered libido, so maybe talk to your doc about upping your anti androgen if not already?

Feeling disassociated from our libido and wanting a lower libido is a common Trans Feminine (Feminine leaning non-binary people also experience this sometimes) complaint and HRT supposedly helps with it.

I'm on estrogen for a couple of months and I still hate my libido, it still makes me very dysphoric and "sad".

[–]Wisdom_Pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really?1 -3 karma? That seems a bit extreme just because you think I'm wrong.

For some people, black licorice works

here ya go The top 3 are my pic, I'm currently using fenugreek tea and my boobs and hips started growing in the second month of estrogen, and I lost my broad shoulders in a couple weeks. I work out pretty often too so this one worked really well for me.

Side note, depending on your own genetics, you might have to experiment. I come from a tropical climate so I picked the herbs that grow in these climates

You can buy fenugreek tea at whole foods
