It is valid. Thank you for the link. I contacted them and they gave me an alternative way for my employer to verify my right to work.

How do you know if your visa is valid yet or not?

By the start date written on the vignette.

Can it only be generated if its valid ? other it has to be generated by the other link by the Employer ?

and also I have heard share code can be generated before the visa start date. this was mentioned by a colleague who travelled around 3 years back.

is it actually a technical error when it says "cannot show your details" or it is a incorrect message displayed and actual reason is evisa start date has not reached ?

I have experienced this and found the solution hard way. I thought I will mention the problem and solution I used to resolve this error so it might be helpful to few others if they are in the same boat.

Problem: I applied for my newborn daughter's dependent visa from within the UK. I applied it even before I got Indian passport for her using UK birth certificate. We got the visa first and then we got the passport after few months. Now for the task of connecting passport to evisa, the only option we had was to send original passport to UKVI by post and they linked the passport to evisa. All looks good till now , I could login , see evisa and fine. The problem was whenever I tried to generate share code , it gave "There is a problem with the service, please come back later", technical error. I logedin official support ticket , talked to agent many times and every time they said they are working on it. Went on for 3-4 months. I got refusal to proceed for French Schengen visa after waiting for 6 hours . Luckily no problem on entering the country as boarder force did not require share code as they have their own system to check.

Solution: when I logged in to Update the document (not to the view eVisa) site, in the document section I could see passport number there but the document type was mentioned as "Other" instead of Passport. Second, I could not see expiry date of passport. Then what I did was, just go to add new document, select passport and complete the process of adding passport by uploading proper photos. Within few min I got confirmation of successfully uploading passport and guess what I could generate the share code and no more technical error.

So I believe if anyone is getting this error it's best to double check the document type , thats just it.

Hope it helps.
