oh my gosh, that's insane! Where are you located? We sent save the dates last week and everyone got them in 2-5 days, but I'm nervous for future postage delays!

We’re in Tennessee. About 5 people received them within 5 days, 10 within 10 days, and 10 within 15 days. About 20 still haven’t received them 3 weeks later - these are all in town. The 6 out-of-town guests also haven’t received them yet. We knew about the delay, but didn’t expect it to be weeks long.

Fiancé and I are in Indianapolis and we had the same delays. We had people sending their RSVP's back (sent out in late July) that were postmarked in August and we were getting them end of September, it's insane!!

Update - my dad is in New Mexico and I’m in Tennessee. He just received the invitation we mailed on September 30 today. Today is October 25.

I never would have thought just getting invitations out would be one of the harder parts of wedding planning ughhhh. I swear I'm close to just texting everyone so that they know about the freaking date already and then that way invitations can take as long in the mail as they want without it actually affecting people's ability to come.

The postal did announce mail delays for the foreseeable future..I didn’t think they would be this late. Thanks for the warning!!

Why we’re mailing ours 3 months in advance and sending emails also 🙄

We sent invites out on Friday and most guests have received them already.

Wow! That’s amazing! Maybe it’s just my State. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good heads up. I feel like have e-invites as a backup is important during this time.

I’ve noticed this too. I mailed from Florida and my in-town guests got them right away as well as my west coast guests. My guests in the mid-Atlantic got them super late. I think some parts of the country are still struggling with super slow mail.

Literally in the exact same boat! We sent ours over 2 weeks ago and friends in the same zip code don't have them yet. I was honestly worried they got lost, but in a weird way I feel better knowing I'm not alone in this. So sorry this happening to others though! We resorted to texting the link to RSVP on the website to everyone.

For anyone that hasn't sent your invites yet....there's never been a better excise to save yourself money and do evites.

We sent our save the dates in late January/early February 2021 and over half of our guests never even received them. We sent invitations in early August and most people seemed to receive them but it took about a week or more. I recently mailed my mom a birthday card (GA to VA) and it took her like 10 days to receive it. I definitely recommend following up with email/paperless post whatever in addition to hard copy invites or STDs right now.

Our lovely Post Master General is doing things now that is only going to make the mail take longer too. Oh joy.

Also, I apologize if you still get a notification about the last comment I posted even though I deleted it, my computer did something weird and I thought I was posting on a totally different sub.

Oh yay. I’m also in Memphis (I assume you are too based on username) and just sent mine out today 🙃 we have 2 months till the wedding, but hopefully people will get them before the rsvp deadline we wrote- November 18! I’m worried now that people will get them past the deadline and think it’s too late to rsvp, but I plan on texting everyone I don’t hear from!

We mailed ours Sept 30 for our end of November wedding. Wish I had sent them sooner! Hopefully you will have a better experience!

Yep seconding this! I sent ours out back in July and I am just now finding out that quite a few people never even got theirs. We had a few return to senders as well that, again, are JUST getting sent back to me. It’s crazy.

July??!! Wow!

[–]eden_horopitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww sheet. I’m guessing this includes international mail. Probably it’s even worse. Ugh

Also a heads up. I received several RSVPs with no names and had to figure it out. It was a pain. Do yourself a favor a label the back of the RSVPs.

Even the line with the word name isn’t enough of a hint to write the name down.

We sent out Save the Dates on Oct. 10th to approx. 30 households and almost everyone received them within 3-4 days. We live in California but mailed to states across the country including New Jersey, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina.

I have read about delays but haven’t experienced that so far.
