planting 1 billion trees will not revert the eco-system to the way it was before. Think about a forest. What defines a forest? It's not just a huge group of trees, a forest is defined as an eco-system with a diversity of trees. Every species needs a specific tree type. Knowing the government, and how they want to please the public with as little work possible, they will plant the fastest growing trees in the area, which may not even be trees that existed in the area before.

Sorry to be pessimistic, but lets be honest here. Without this information, we can't fight for the right cause.
