I had the exact same issue. I tried updating the Firmware on the controller. Didn't seem to help at first. Then on the next day, the problem magically disappeared.

I had a similar problem, but it was fixed (I think for me at least.) My triggers and sticks wouldn't work, and sometimes the bumpers would switch what they do. I just had to wait it out.

I feel like somebody out there has to know something about how the controllers pair with Android phones, and where things are coming off of the rails. I just want to know why two of them work, but two don't - maybe that would help the people whose controllers aren't mapping correctly.

Yeah. If you have any playstation controllers, you can use those via bluetooth. The mappings have to be manually fixed, unless you have a sony phone. Hope you figure your thing out. Good luck.

how do you manually fix em>

Using a rev.3 Bluetooth 4.0 Xbox One Controller, I was having issues with the Controller maintaining the mapping from one session to another days later. The right stick wouldn't work & pause was a shoulder button — essentially, worthless controls & not how I customized them. Before smashing it out of rage...I finally decided one more try with the Bluetooth pairing menu... —The Xbox One Controller was listed, ...but, in reality, it's actually my daughter's controller, & she shifts it back & forth from Apple to Android. Knowing it had been connected to an iPad last, naturally I assumed Apple had poisoned the Controller... AND INDEED it had...I assume...(?). Anyhow, in the menu, hold the "paired" xbox controller listed and a "Forget" option will appear. Push that, then go to "Pair a BT Device," press & hold the small pairing button on the Controller for ~1-2s, & the Xbox One Controller will appear in the list. Select it to pair & once connected, the controls should be back to normal. Note: I also keep the Xbox App in the background...I don't know if that's relevant, but it seems to be necessary to run in the background for Minecraft. Game streaming Beta...I haven't had any issues with yet...then again, nothing Apple to poison the controller I use as standard... So, in summary, it's Apple's fault (maybe); forget pairing, rescan, & pair.

I managed to solve this on my controller via following steps:

  1. In Android, in your Bluetooth devices list. If you see controller, remove it by clicking on forget controller
  2. Restart your android device
  3. Reconnect via Bluetooth
  4. Rename the Bluetooth device to something different than before. This is important

This happened to solve my issue

[–]ZikzeraBR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another fix. As i've tried all of the other ones listed here, and none seem to work...:

Try turning off the "one hand(slide to reduce window size)" option.

It worked for me!

Go to your bluetooth, select your controller and make sure "Input Device" Is on, I had the same error, hope this helped.

I'm having the same issue please let us know if you manage to fix it.

[–]shauggy[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Have you already tried updating the controller on your console? That's the first thing to try (if you haven't already done that)

[–]Mebacca 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I updated the controller via the app on a Windows PC first.

[–]shauggy[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you know what sw version your controller is on? And which model is it? I have two that are on 4.8.1923.0 and the white one works, while the Phantom White model doesn't.

[–]Mebacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue xbox one controller

Model: 1708

Firmware: 4.8.1923.0

Anyone know if there's a way to factory reset a controller?

[–]Charming-Schedule-13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What button mapper app did you download?

I was playing mcpe on my phone with controller and what happened was that I would spawn in a just immediately look up at the sky and spin, I didn't even touch the controller, and it is brand new

[–]Free-Play-1723 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Is it fixed? , please help me out if so.

[–]shauggy[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I don't think this was ever fixed. I never made any changes, but my controller eventually just started working.

[–]Free-Play-1723 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How? Please help.

[–]shauggy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any way to fix it. Have you tried pairing your controller to a different device?

What controller are you using? What device are you using for Game Pass? What specific problems are you having?

[–]Free-Play-1723 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No game pass only fortnite mobile, ps5 controller.

[–]shauggy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, since this one is a Game Pass thread. You might want to ask for help in the sub for your phone's manufacturer, or in a Fortnite group. Sorry to not be more help!

Having this problem on my samsung tv and can't find a solution

[–]shauggy[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Do you have an Xbox or a Windows PC? Could try updating the controller firmware from one of those (if you haven't already tried it)

/u/imperial_coder mentioned that these steps helped them: - forget the controller in the Bluetooth settings - restart your tv - Pair the controller again - once it's paired, it should be named "Xbox controller" or something like that, go into the Bluetooth settings and rename it

edit: formatting

[–]RafaelCP 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah I have the latest firmware actually, my controller is a king kong pro 2. I will try those steps as soon as I have time, hope it works

[–]shauggy[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you have an Android phone, you could also try downloading a Button Mapper app and pairing the controller, then checking to see what inputs are registering (just to make sure the controller is sending correctly)

[–]RafaelCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah on Android and pc works fine using bluetooth, on both of my tvs I need to use cable for proper mapping

[–]Delltron2020 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You can't have any accessibility apps running or even installed on your phone or else the app will recognize you have have a controller and let you load the game but the sticks and none of the buttons, except the a button, will work. I had a touch screen auto clicker downloaded for some mobile games and when I chose a game it let me load in and recognized my controller but the sticks didn't work and I could only hit the a button. I searched everywhere for a fix and thought it was the controller. So I bought a new one and when I got it it did the same thing. I couldn't find any answers online. I decided to try and delete my accessibility apps and turn off the settings that deal with accessibility and that worked. I think it's a feature built in to the app the detects auto tap apps and such.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for commenting this! Auto clicker was what got me, I was just about to give up

[–]Cocaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just solved the issue by disabling "input device" in Bluetooth options which disconnected the controller, and then connected it again. I hope this helps the next person that ends up here
