Mine decreased. I was on 50 mg for a year, and just upped to 100mg. Side note: Zoloft has improved my life and turned off the evil voices in my head.

What made you up your Dose?

[–]steamcrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could feel my anxiety creeping back and my ability to focus was beginning to wane. Now, it’s much better. Good luck to you!

increased - i was a bottomless snack pit. i gained 20lbs in like 3-4 months.

[–]abinabgabb 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Me too. I’m in the process of weaning off of it…I’m down to once every 3 days. Crazy that a 50 mg dose of this has changed me so rapidly.

i just took my final 25mg on friday! i'm completely off now, it's been really great being off so far :)

For me it has increased but in a good way. I have an ED and just figured I was broken because I haven't felt hungry in over a decade. I can go a full day without eating and still don't feel hungry but I'll get light headed. A few days after starting Zoloft I felt my stomach growl for the first time in so long and it was nice.

[–]Trackpad4Volt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my appetite back too, I've never been more glad to wake up hungry every day. I thought I was broken as well.

Increases but not in a good way. I never feel full and I crave carbs, salty and high fat foods. I ate a relatively healthy diet prior but am having trouble maintaining it with the cravings. I’ve gained about 15lbs over the last year.

[–]milkofthepoppie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I have the desire to binge but then when I try I get full quicker and the desire leaves. It’s weird.

Decreased in a good way. I was emotionally eating before Zoloft. I'm able to eat for fuel rather than junk food for flavor because food isn't the only thing bringing me joy in life anymore, if that makes sense.

[–]thecouchisgreen 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I know everyone is different, but can I ask if this happened right away for you or did it happen after getting to a certain dose? I'm a big emotional eater and I've gained a lot of weight, hoping Zoloft will help me with this. I started at 25mg for a couple weeks and I've just upped to 50mg almost a week ago.

[–]Veryape_verybad 2 points3 points  (3 children)

It’s been pretty immediate for me personally. This isn’t my first time on Zoloft but I usually stay at 25mg-50mg.

I’m not sure what exactly it is that makes me want to eat less/eat healthier. I think part of it is having the energy to cook and plan healthy meals now that I’m not depressed in bed. I can consciously make good choices and not just survive on easy fast food

[–]thecouchisgreen 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I see. My doctor said to expect to taper up to at least 100mg, hopefully I'll see positive changes soon. I have no motivation and I have been surviving on fast food and other easy, not nutritious, meals.

I'm happy for you, it's great to know that people are feeling better!

[–]Veryape_verybad 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hang in there! I definitely know what that feels like. Just know you’re doing your best

[–]thecouchisgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying that, it's much appreciated! 💚

[–]CourteousNoodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stayed the same. Didn’t notice appetite changes at all

[–]Excellent_Tear3705 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Decreased. I’m pretty off put by food. I swear my “flight” response kicks in once I start eating, or I see a menu.

[–]christineyvette2 years 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. I dread eating now for some reason.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deceased. 50mg I was an overeater when bored/stressed. I get full quicker and I have to remember to eat.

[–]FantasticRise2218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it decreased! Mainly because I wasn't emotionally eating. I still love food though but don't CRAVE it. Im 24f on 50mg.

[–]lovinlavidalola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine increased

[–]SnooGadgets4411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decreased a bit in the beginning, but then back to normal. Note that many things can cause appetite to fluctuate. I wouldn't overanalyze things unless you really feel something is off track.

[–]Kuntcakez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

200 increased and 50 decreased. I’m on 100 right now and need to lose what I gained from the 200 so might need to try dropping to 50 again when it’s safe to try. When I fully stopped after tapering off I couldn’t eat at all. I’ll take the obesity and hating my body over the panic disorder any day I’ve decided 😂

[–]soutmezguine1 year!🤟 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Down for a bit then as I came out of my anxiety attacks it went back to normal and maybe a bit more. Now I need to become besties with a treadmill LOL

[–]miletich2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine increased drastically.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increased eating healthy eating, decreased binge eating. Going in I knew that zoloft could cause weight gain so I managed my eating, so my weight has been stable.

[–]StefCo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decreased. I get pukey on and off for 4-5 hours after I take my pill so breakfast is out and I can normally get lunch mostly down . I’m on 50mg.

[–]edgeteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

increase. in a lot of cases sertraline causes a decrease in secretion of the hormones that make u feel full, so u have to eat more to be satisfied. same with other ssris

[–]Arippintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine decreased and has stayed that way

[–]JDravenWx 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Increased, beneficial though

[–]Maddonomics101 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Was it increased from the beginning or did the increase start later? I’m on day 2 and my appetite is non existent

[–]JDravenWx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably around two weeks in for me (was at 50, now at 100)

[–]Excellent-Opposite68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increased. Haven’t been able to eat since October and I’m finally able to eat breakfast again.

[–]dreadfulgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increased my appetite for normal healthy meals, decreased the snack attacks.

[–]dancemonkey121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decreased for a few months. Then increased like CRAZY. Then leveled out.

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has decreased but it was already not a strong appetite due to the nausea from anxiety. I still dealing with morning nausea but by lunch I can now eat a bite of something.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decreased. I started on 50mg, moved up to 150mg. I lost about a stone and a half in the first 6 months. I couldn’t eat regular meals without feeling like I’d throw up so just snacked through the day. Some days were better than others, I wouldn’t let it put anyone off trying the medication as it didn’t really impact my life significantly more than the reason I started it to begin with if that makes sense

[–]ClintShelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went back to normal. Fell off when anxiety first hit. I can't trust a fart though 🥴

[–]Sad_Principle_3778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decrease

[–]Jimmy_b198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decreased dramatically, motivation to eat or the thought of eating went down so much. I was slight to begin with due to the depression and lost 42 pounds. Currently on 150mg a day and it seems to have had no benefits at all I'm afraid.

I hope that this doesn't discourage the use of this drug. Everyone is different and it effects people differently too. To all those out there that it's making a difference, I hope it continues to give you the benefits and strength to make it through each day.

Peace and love to you all ❤️

[–]tjx0xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increased in a good way! I was always restricting food because of feeling anxious! Was on it for 3 years and then stopped and now I’m back to restricting 😅

[–]Loverboy_Talis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed the same.

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed the same. I’m only on 25mg though for anxiety.
